ArmyBengal
There has been talk about taking a Wide Receiver in the later rounds, of course after defensive needs have been met and I remember watching this guy last year and thinking, D@MN he's fast !! Once again may be OSU biased and injury aside, but can't help but think with his size and speed, would be well schooled under present receiving corps. He's rated #26 of all receivers in the draft. Take a look !! Thought we could use a change in topics... WHO DEY !!!http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/profiles/...drewcarter.html
Kirkendall
I don't know. I know that we are in talks with Patrick Johnson, so I guess it all depends on whether or not we pick him up.Then again, Drew Carter is my boy! He was, agruably the best WR for OSU until he got hurt; so maybe that's a factor. But I really think he was better than Michael Jenkins, and from my understanding, Jenkins impressed a lot of people at the combine. Then again, I'm not one to understand talent, so Chris might be able to chime in here a little better than I.Hey, I'm all about keeping our boys from the state. Go Bucks!
chrishcovga
Thanks again Kirk for the segway......... Ok The guy I'm really keeping an eye on ,and Kind of hoping falls to the 4th round , which I feel would be a steal for anyone, is ----Bernard Berrian wr, Fresno St.--You talk about a complete package. Has very good hands, was a major factor in David Carr looking as good as he did. He's 6'-1. 183 lbs. runs a solid 4.58 in the 40. May not sound very fast, but he has a "second gear on deep routes , and is excemptionally sound at creating separation. Routes are clean,no wasted movement, and can turn and burn just about any cornerback with well developed second moves.---Currently has a late 2nd and 3rd round grade, and could fall to the 4th round when I feel, most teams will start making a run at the corners and safeties in round 3 .----Another thing that scouts love about him, is his Big hands. Long arms for his size, with catchers' mitts' for hands one scout was recorded as saying......(Sports Weekly)You guys know how I feel about T.J., and would definitely welcome him in as a 4th receiver and return specialist. Berrian definitely sounds like a steal. If we go WR late on the first day, though, I like Michael Jenkins of OSU. He doesn't have the speed of CArter, but his size and hands...damn.With all the WR talk and the great guys in this draft at the position, I think people will look back on Jenkins as a steal in this draft and one of the top WR's to come out of it.Deceptive speed, great size and strength. Strong route runner and glue-like hands.
chrishcovga
You know the one thing that I don't hear mentioned along with Michael Jenkins , is his return ability. He actually is a pretty good punt returner. Some scouts are turned off , by his long strides, but he's actually quite adept at seeing the field and cutting back. Also, his best attribute as a return man, is that he doesn't "dance". You know.. that guy that as soon as he gets the ball, he's going left and right instead of attacking the coverage. Most big returns happen in straight lines, and Jenkins could turn a couple of heads this pre-season.

Chris, I really like Jenkins and Carter (that must be my OSU biasism coming out again), but look at some of the WR in the NFL; Boston, Galloway, Glenn and I know I'm missing a few. For some reason OSU provides pretty good WR in the NFL. Jenkins and Carter are really good return guys and could provide a wealth of greatness for any NFL team. chrishcovga
Kirk , we understand all to well about your OSU bias.....personally I haven't had that since Keith Byars stopped running for them. !

Shoulder, I think. He was a non-factor in the last two games. Can't see the B'gals going after a WR, but the an interesting late round pick might be DereK Abney of KY.He is an excellent KR, in the mode of Dante Hall. I've been meaning to post the exact same thing. Abney has the ncaa record for kick returns, both career and single season. Living where I do I am subjected to many Kentucky games and he was there only bright spot. He seems like a great complement to chad johnson; he's a deceptively speedy smallish fellow that has a knack to get open and catch the ball. BengalszoneBilly
He sounds like a perfect later round "local boy" catch, plus the special teams could use a boost, if he's as dangerous as you guys say he is. From your description, he's got "flavor"!
chrishcovga
I think we already went that route before with Craig Yeast .Smallish receivers usually make good return men, but that's about all. Every now and then, they make a play or 2 on offense, but don't really compliment the offense that well. Peter Warrick has established himself as a starter in this league. If Chad Johnson were to ever have someone play opposite him, I have to feel we did a pretty good job with drafting Kelly Washington last year. With Palmers' arm.. I definitely envision the 3 of them running a lot of vertical routes next season.
