jjakq27
http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../602190391/1078Marvin says that a running back, quarterback, punter and kicker are low priorities in the first three rounds. Their greatest needs are in the defensive secondary, safety, the defensive line and tight end.
schweinhart
Decent enough of a combine preview and a plus that he got Gil Brandt to speak about some players. The real interesting stuff should come out of the combine, not just measurables but which teams are interviewing who, the status of some of the medical cases, and how some of the tweeners are being drilled. Not to forget the deals that are likely to get done with player contracts. Hopefully the Enquirer will add to that when the combine kicks off with a closer view into what's happening with the Bengals staff and maybe some insight from crisper talent evaluators than Brandt who are league sanctioned like Pat Kirwan or Mike Mayock. ShulaSteakhouse
I know Vernon Davis won't make it to 26 most likely, but man is that guy a beast. I know he's only 6'3", and isn't the best of blockers, but his strength should come in handy there. Yet what a weapon he'd be for Palmer, yikes. Watching him in the skills competition really opened my eyes to what an athlete he is.
LABengalsFan09
Brandt is getting a little too old to trust if he thinks that this is a deep class of o-linemen... All Mayock has told us here is that this is a terrible draft for o-linemen in terms of depth... I've heard Kiper say as much also...

Whur CHad At?
I saw in the Enqurier that since that our O-line could possibly all be gone next year, that if there is a good OL at #24, we will take one. So I think that O-Line could possibly be their prime targets.I don't believe Mel Kiper, or any draft anaylist because 90% of the time they are wrong from picks 8-32. schweinhart
There seems to be decent enough O-line players but proly not many who will be picked in the 1st round now. It sounds like teams have concerns that many of the left tackle prospects slotted in the first round either won't be able to cut it at left tackle in the NFL or are just have proven themselves enough at the spot -- Eric Winston, Marcus McNeil, and Jon Scott. If that's how they get evaluated then they won't get picked high because it's rarer for a RT or LT kicked down to guard to get drafted high unless they're just flat out dominant the way Jamall Brown was last year.If the Bengals have no intention of extending at least Steinbach and Levi, then they probably would draft an O-lineman early for that side. Just not sure they'll see enough talent for it to burn a first. Maybe worth a Day 2 pick like Paul McQuistan or Michael Toudouze who probably wil project as NFL LTs.It seems likelier that they would target the big shoes to fill between Big Willie and Bobbie on the right side. Koositra will also be a UFA after this year, leaving Stacy the Giant and Adam Kieft to fill the right side void if no one is re-signed. A RT with the size and skills of Ryan O'Callaghan should be one they're talking to at the combine if they're in the market in the 2nd round for right side O-line.Personally, I hope they extend their own this year and next and not dive into the draft to keep their franchise QB protected. BengalBillyBob
I like Mercedes Lewis as a pass catching TE. He should be available when we draft, or we could even trade down and get extra picks and still take him. We really need to upgrade the TE spot. Good Safety's & CB's will be around in rd 2 and 3. He's another Matt Schobel only with less butterfingers. We need an all purpose tight end, not a receiving tight end.

If we take him, I'll be sending around a petition for Mike Brown to hire Matt Millen as our GM.

Kazkal
I woulden't want a guard till 2nd or 3rd myself at the earlist I'd be fine with bengals keeping big bobby rather then wasting a pick when we have alot bigger needsmybe if bengals like traded down twice and still were able to get him
