I get what you mean TJ, but Young is right! It’s ownership that’s the problem and you can’t FIRE the owner! With this ownership, firing Taylor isn’t the answer because they’ll just replace him with another just like him. Even PB, who had a brilliant no nonsense football mind, appointed Tiger Johnson as HC, over Bill Walsh, just because he didn’t like Walsh!

Unfortunately, if the family philosophy doesn’t change when MB passes on, then we know that things will remain status quo. Sad but true! https://stripehype.com/legendary-nfl-qb-calls-out-bengals-ownership-for-teams-struggles-this-season-01jdg5cjr7kt

Even with the defense as it is Army, if McPherson makes those kicks this year, he used to always make, they’d be 9-2 with Burrow a runaway for MVP!
-
I'll wait until MB checks out and see what happens!
-
You may be right HC, but everything you've quoted above has happened while daddy is STILL alive and the owner on paper. Opinions are like elbows and everyone has one, but after daddy is gone, and if she DOES come to the realization that daddy's approach has never worked since he took over after her grandpa died, and MAY decide to change it up, since she won't have the guilt of daddy still being around! Daddy's way has only gotten the franchise one AFC Championship in 34 years! Army, I'm pretty sure you will agree that the ONLY hope we have is for her to change it up OR sell the franchise. Outside of that all we can do is like we've done for 57 years is put our failed hope in 'next year's draft and fantasy trades and FA moves'!

For a 4-7 team, that could very well be 9-2, THIS . . . . . . is very hard to swallow! https://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr

after MB passes on, Katie starts changing the way the franchise starts doing things since her dad is no longer around to offend?
-
The new owner has pretty much been running things the last few years so I don’t see that being a solution whatsoever! Unless she is just biding time until he passes on so she doesn’t ‘hurt his feelings’ by using her grandpa’s approach and football mind!?
-
I just don’t see anything changing HC. After 57 years of different coaches and players I used to think it was Mike Brown. But after he’s given MOST of the control to his daughter, I can no longer put it on him and have to believe it’s a family affair! Either way I’m running out of time to see anything beyond the already 3 AFC Championships!

BTW how in the world are the Steelers up 36-25 with the last 4 wins in a row for the Steelers against the Ravens?!?!?!
-
I just put $100,00 down in Vegas that the Bengals will NOT lose the game in week 12!!!!

My belief is a 7-10 finish, at best. What will be different about 'next year'! EVERYTHING is imploding!! YES, Burrow is having a good year, but his doctor said the wrist will NEVER be 100%! Management has drafted, gotten FAs, probably spent more money on players since Katie took over 99% of the team, than they spent the 20+ years MB has been the owner and, outside of Orlando Brown, all of them have turned out to be average at best! Army, the Texans aren't looking much better. I've just surrendered the fact that my career as a Cincinnati sports fan, dating back to Crosley Field and Nippert Stadium, will have to be content with 3 WS Championships for the Reds, and 3 AFC Championships for the Bengals! The icing on the cake though is the biased admission of the referees. They admitted that, when Brady was with the Pats, they got the close calls, and even Aaron Rodgers got some heat for speaking out about a 'roughing the passer' penalty that was called FOR him, and said that it wasn't even close to a ‘roughing the passer’ call. The bias on calls continue with the NEW Brady and Patriots, Mahomes and Chiefs. The NFL doesn't flag penalties anymore, they just fine the players. Once again Bengal fans, goodnight Irene, and the last one out please turn the lights off!

lets say it again for the 57th time . . . . THERE’S ALWAYS NEXT YEAR!!!

L @ Chargers L vs Steelers W @ Cowboys W @ Titans W vs Browns L vs Broncos L @ Steelers 7-10

The Bengals traded their season away when the traded Mixon! Not only has Brown only had one 100+ yard game, he fumbled the game away as it turned out! And then they trade for Herbert?!?!? I’m 71 and will probably never see a Lombardi but it’s been nice to see 3 WS championships with the Reds and to go to one game each in the 75 and 76 WS. The only reason I didn’t go to 90 WS because I moved to FL in 1981.

I understand your sentiments Army, but, for me it was time for a change. It wasn't hard for me to join Junior, CJ, and Mixon. I think Mixon is making the Bengals look foolish. I don't watch ANY real the me games anymore just go to websites afterward. Lets hope the Texans organization give Stroud the support he deserves as things unfold! I was looking at Jungle Noise forum and decided to copy and paste; “As the Chiefs, the Bills and the Ravens all make trades to make their already great teams even better what do we do as we are on the verge of a team collapse? Absolute nothing. This is what makes it hard to root for this team. They don’t even try. Their drafting has been awful so why act like these 2nd-7th round picks are gold? It’s pathetic. Mike Brown is a pathetic human being. I hope fans stop renewing season tickets. They don’t deserve us.”

IF they ever WIN a SB, and I’m still alive, I’ll come in here, belly and bib up to the crow buffet and eat whatever you want to dish out. The only GOOD thing about switching from Browns to Bengals at the age of 14, in 1968, when PB started the franchise, is it took me away from the Browns franchise even though the HAVE won 4 NFL championships.
-
year, after year, after year, after year . . . . . . . dismal and mysterious!
-
Going with him and CJ AB! Going with your Junior! Between trading Mixon and Chase’s ‘Prima Donna’ BS. He ran his mouth about getting more than Jefferson. The Bengals offer it to him and he turns it down? I bet he could sit out the season and the Bengals wouldn’t have the guts to NOT pay him. BS! Fifty six years has been enough for me! This franchise will NEVER take a Lombardi home. Going with my brother-in-Christ C.J. and Mix. I’m done! Goodnight Irene!
-
Looks to me like another 0-2 start. I always thought the problem was PB, ESPECIALLY when he turned over most of the decisions to Katie, who produced 5 playoff wins in 2 years, the same amount of wins it took the franchise 52 years to produce. However it’s still a mystery why they can’t produce any consistency year after year like Pitt and Baltimore?!?
-
Didn’t he have a laundry list of injuries through high school and college? Makes no difference how good you are if you’re not on the field. The Don Gullett of the NFL?
-
100 Army! Love me some CJ Stroud. Adding Mixon just made it even better! Lombardi may end up in Houston before it ever will in Cincinnati!
-
I haven't scoured this thread, and can't intentionally put myself through unwanted frustration by watching the games, but Jungle Noise were really hard on Hudson for the fumble, but didn't Gesicki drop a TD pass?? Hudson is what, second year, Gesicki a VFA???
-
If you're going to replace a Mixon, you gotta have AT LEAST a Perine type equivalent!!
-
Not sure about the wrist. We could be looking at Joe (Greg Cook) Burrow, or even a better parallel, the Don Gullet of the Bengals??? Didn't have a history of injuries in college?
