  1. Should the Bengals Trade Chad Johnson? Yes!!! Talent level; best player on the team - every other attribute; one of the worst players on the team.

Should the Bengals Re-sign TJ Housh? Definately. A true AFC North receiver.

Should we fire Marvin? - Give him one more year.

Should we fire the Off. Cordinator? - No - injuries, suspensions, and pouting have damaged this offense.

Def. Cordinator? Should have fired him last year.

Is Mike Brown the root of all there is to blame? Yes!!!!!! Unfortunately nothing will ever change w/ him at the helm.

Is Carson Palmer going backwards/Should we seek a backup? CP's having a down year, but still is one of the top 5 QB's in the league.

Should the Bengals let Rudi Johnson go? Yes - he's done.

    Big Willie? Yes.

Justin Smith? Yes - extremely overrated. Has a high motor so he can catch up to guys and tackle them 20 yards downfield.

    M. Williams and Dexter Jackson? Probably Madieu and Dexter is the #1 guy they need to get rid of.

Deltha? #2 guy they need to get rid of.

Would you give Odell Thurman another chance if he's able to come back? Yes, but not at MLB.

Is Chris Henry the young phenom or a stupid son-bitch? Both.

Do you still Trust In Marvin? Not really, but there's no one specifically I'd rather have.

2008 1st Round Draft Pick - Offense or Defense (or best avail. like McFadden)? Defense.

Do you hate the Steelers, Browns, or Ravens with a passion? Yes, but not as much as I hate Mike Brown.

Free Agents or The Draft? I'd give our draft selections a D grade and our free agents an F grade - pick your poison.

Most Importantly, How long have you been a Bengals Fan? 29 years.

  2. A few observations before I get to my main point:

Jonathan Joseph is playing a lot better over the last 3 games - hopefully he keeps this up.

The D, for the most part, has been playing at least average (which is all we've ever asked for) for the last few games.

This wasn't a game like the ones against the Falcons & Bucs last year and Seahawks & Cards this year where we should have won and found a way to lose. The Steelers are a flat out better team than us and I was happy to see the Bengals keep it a game until the last few minutes.

    Now to my point...

If you are STILL in the camp of "How can you say trade Chad?! Chad's one of the best players on our team/NFL!" Then you have some serious major malfunction - numbnut.

    - Did you see the last offensive play?!!! No one around him on 4th down and he steps out of bounds 2 yards short of the

f*&$%ing marker!!! A total lack of focus and blatant exhibit of lack of heart, intelligence, focus, competiveness, and any

other term that carries any relevance in sports.

    - Another big game, another my name's Ocho Stinko and I didn't do s*@t today.

    - I'd like to know how many dropped balls 85 has this year, but unfortunately I can't count that high.

Trade that mother effer after this season for a 1st round draft pick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been saying this for awhile, but now I don't even care if they get anything else but a 1st round draft pick. Now before you start giving excuses like some of the more ignorant Reds fans out there, let me make an analogy. For the past couple of years some Reds fans (including me) have wanted to trade Griffey and Dunn - whether we get full value or not. Other fans have countered that they're the two best players on the team (which they're not anymore) and that they're the only reason to see a game. The big thing that they refuse to see is that how many winning seasons have the Reds have with Griffey and Dunn leading them??? ZERO!!! What could be worse, finishing last in the NL Central instead of 2nd to last???

How many playoff games have the Bengals won in the 7 seasons with 85? ZERO!!! How many winning seasons have they had? One. What are we missing if we trade him? It's not like we went to the Superbowl with him, he had a bad game, and we want to trade him. We haven't done s#$t with him. Trade him for a 1st round pick, draft defense all the way, cross your fingers that the news of the past week has made Chris Henry a little more reflective, and watch the Bengals with a top 10 defense and at least an average offense get DEEP INTO THE PLAYOFFS.

P.S. Throw in Dexter Jackson when you trade Chad. Chad didn't single-handedly lose the game tonight, that was Dexter's responsibility. Missed an easy INT and made one of the dumbest plays I've seen in my life with that offsides at the end of the game. The guy can't cover, focus, tackle, keep his mouth shut, or spell A Hole if you gave him the A and the Hole.

  3. It would be nice if we could trade CJ. However, not for Haynesworth, he's trouble - suspended 5 games last year and now the AP is reporting that he and Pacman Jones had a confrontation this past weekend.

Is Chad replaceable? No!. Do I want to depend on Chris Henry? No! However, if we could get let's say the Falcons first and third round picks and draft some defensive guys then, although the offense suffers the defense would be improved and therefore the team would be improved.

    Reasons to trade Chad:

    1. He's a leader of the team and a headcase - which means the team's a headcase.

    2. He does not show up during big games.

    3. MOST IMPORTANT REASON TO TRADE CHAD:

IF TRADING CHAD ENABLES OUR DEFENSE TO BE ONE OF THE TOP 10 D- UNITS, CARSON IS GOOD ENOUGH TO KEEP OUR OFFENSE IN THE GAME.

Look at the Ravens teams of the past several years (not this year). If only their offense was average, look how many games they would have won with the defensive talent they had.

Defense wins championships. A strong D can carry an average O. I think we can all attest that a high-powered O cannot carry a porrous D.

  4. I do think CB is a need, but if the opposing QB's didn't have all day to throw, our CB's would look better (just as long as JJ didn't have to tackle anyone). I think the only way we draft a CB on day 1 is if Arizona's Antoine Cason is available in the second round.

The past couple of years I've kind of bought into Marvin's stance that great teams build through the draft and not via free agency. However, the draft obviously doesn't work for us and how many people would you honestly keep from the defense if you had your choice?

KEEPERS: Geathers....and, well that's about it

ONLY TIME WILL TELL: Hall & Ndukwe

HOBSON HYPE (never plays): Brooks, Thurman, Pollack, Henderson, Fanene, Kilmer, Rucker, White

DECENT, WON'T WIN ANY GAMES (and probably shouldn't start): Peko, L. Jonson, D. Jones, H. Jones

All the rest of the guys aren't worth a beer at PBS.

  5. The Dolphins will beet the Bengals this year, the question is will they have beaten any other teams before us.

Remember the last game of the year last year- Steelers knock us out as the team played distracted and disoriented.

Remember the last game of 2005- The dispicable Chiefs knock us out

Remember the last game of 2003- The 4-12 Browns punch us in the mouth

The only time a Marvin-led team has won the last game of the season was in '04 when they beat the Eagles who rested their entire first string on both sides of the ball and most of their second string players, so that shouldn't even count as a win.

I hope the Fins do come into the Cincy game w/out a win (although I bet they will have 1 - the Ravens) and I hope the the Fins beat the Bengals. The Bengals - more accurately, Mike Brown - are like a drug addict. They're going to have to hit absolutely rock bottom before they can get better. How many times over the past decade has the team one just enough games at the end of the season, to make people (more importantly, MB) think they're on the right track when they're not.

Right now the Bengals are the addict who lost their job and their family, but they still don't realize how bad it is. Maybe losing to the winless Dolphins to end the season will be the ephiphany they need to say, "I can't believe I just did that in the men's room for ten bucks...I need help."

  6. I think we can all agree that Carson sucked it up today. Everyone has bad days, what concerns me more, is that in the past 2 years, all of our losses boil down to 2 scenarios.

    1. We play the Pats, Colts, etc. and we're so star-struck, the Bengals are more concerned about getting Tom Brady's autograph than winning the game.

    Or

    2. We're down by a score with under 3 minutes to play and a chance to win and/or tie and.... well, you know what happens next.

Carson's good, but until he can actually drive the O down the field and win a damn game, he's just outside of the group of elite QB's. How many damn times is he driving the team down at the end of the game and throws a pick?! Last time I remember him doing anything remotely great at the end of the game is in '04 when he emerged by killing the Ravens at Baltimore in the 4th Qtr. It's not always his fault, but come on, every week their in this scenario and it plays out the same every time.

Besides TEN & PITT our schedule's pretty easy, here's to hoping we don't win 4-6 games and lose out on a good DT or DE in the draft.

  7. I'd like to think that next year's starting LB's would be Sam - Eric Henderson, Mike - Ahmad Broods, Will - Odell Thurman and we therefore wouldn't need to draft a LB w/ the 1st pick. Although that's zero experience and has about as good a chance of happening as a valet getting a good tip from Chris Henry.

DE or DT if a solid one is available. If one's not there than the best LB on the board. Safety would be nice, but we just drafted 2 this year.

  8. Need to Sign:

    Stacy Andrews - Willie's done

    Kyle Larson - good punter

Landon Johnson - should be the 1st LB off the bench

    Glen Holt - Getting better

Indiana Jones - Good ST player

Probably Should Sign if the $'s Right:

    Alex Stepanovich

    Rashad Jeanty

    Ryan Fitzpatrick

    Let Walk (Who Cares):

    Bryan Robinson

    Lemarr Marshall

    Nate Lawrie

Tab Perry - Can't stay healthy

    Jonathan Fanene

Don't Show Your Ugly Face Around Here Again:

Justin Smith - Not nearly worth the $ and only makes tackles 8 - 12 yards down field

Madieu Williams - Gets worse every year

Caleb Miller - Worse football player to ever get an SI cover

Antonio Chatman - He's had one good NFL game his whole career and that was AGAINST the Bengals

Adam Kieft - Great draft pick: ZERO NFL snaps in 3 seasons

If They're On the Team Next Year I Will Quit Watching:

    Dealtha O'Neal

    Dexter Jackson

    Frostee Rucker

    Chuck Bresnahan

    Mike Brown

  9. At first glance I'd say Akili, but the silver lining in him is if we don't make that mistake, then we don't suck so freakin' bad that were able to draft Carson. So I think that draft pick has a happy ending. Klinger's tempting too, but I think he would have been alright if he were on another team. For example, until this year, I always felt that if Big Ben were on another team he wouldn't be half as productive as he is - although he's disproving that theory this year. Big Ben right place, right time; Klingler wrong place, wrong time. I'll go with Big Daddy Wilkerson. He was a huge bust - literally.

  10. I believe we have two really good up and coming CB's in Hall and Joseph.

I agree that w/ no pressure our corners are bread in a toaster. With that being said, Hall looks promising - although he does get burnt too often for my liking. I'm not so sure about JJ. He never jams the receivers, he's always more than five yards off of them, and acts like everyone has leperacy - b/c he can't (or won't) tackle worth a s*$t.

  11. there are way to many holes on this team and 10-6 i believe will not happen nor do i want 8-8. because if we do finish with above 8-8 marv will only retain the services of f**king retard bres and resign justin keep thorton and robinson and the rest of these sorry pos's. then we will be looking at 8-8 for a long time. there are some major changes that need to be made on defense with personel and coaches and if it takes a 4-12 season to get them fixed then that's what i want.

    In total agreement.

  12. The only way the Bengals would go to the playoffs is if they finsihed 10 - 6. So here's to hoping they win the rest of their games and here's to hoping Chris Henry doesn't get into any more trouble. I wonder which has the better chance of happening?

If we don't go 10 - 6, then let's at least try to finish with a top 8 pick. A busted top draft pick can set a team back a few years, but what we need is a stud DE or DT and usually those guys are gone before you get out of the top 10.

  13. That's too bad. I'm sure this will impede his supposed ascent to "superstardom". Assuming Odell is still alive next year, the two supposedly best linebackers on the team will have a handful, and I do mean handful, of games between them for the last two years. Sure I hope both will be back and play to their potential, but I don't see a lot of guys with almost no playing time in two years come back and amount to much.

Draft Lerini...However you spell his d#%n name. The MLB from OSU - Animal's son.

  14. 3. Bench strong safety Dexter Jackson, and replace him with rookie Chinedum Ndukwe.

With playoff goals no longer in reach I'm in favor of opening up the floodgates by giving increased playing time to lots of young players, not just Ndukwe. That said, it's almost ridiculous to suggest that Jackson be benched outright.

Are you kidding me? Dexter Jackson is one of the WORST players on the D. I don't see how some people don't realize this, they must be watching different games than I am. Even during the Bills game, the announcer was talking about how Jackson was the best tackler on the D!?? Besides Joseph and O'Neal, Jackson is the worst tackler on the team - git rid of his sorry @ss!

  15. What I find most troubling though is how quickly people are turning on the franchise, players, and coaches they call themselves "supporters" and "fans" of.

Bengals nation was once a proud nation, full of fans who stood behind their team and supported them. Now look at us, look at what we've become, it's shameful.

For the past ten years, I've lived in areas that were either predominately Browns supportors or Steeler supportors. I'm sure this stems from my arguments with said people, but I have a problem with anyone - fellow Bengal fan or not - that questions the fanhood and support of any Cincinnati Bengal fan. From 1991 - 2002 the Bengals were not just the worst team in the NFL, they were the worst team in professional sports! Any fan who stuck through that period and still supported the team has earned the right for the rest of time not to have their fanhood/support questioned.

IMO if you're okay with the last two seasons, then you should ask yourself if you really support this team. Raise your hand if you can watch a Bengal game this year and tell everyone in the room what's about to happen before it happens. This team isn't a bad call or freaky play away from being good - they freakin' suck! There is nothing in this team's past recent or historically that points to this team righting the ship - and by righting the ship I don't mean going 9-7, I mean winning a da&n Super Bowl!

Look at all the NFL teams with supposedly great fan bases - Steelers, Browns, Raiders, Redskins, Packers, Cowboys, etc. What do they all have in common? They all have one or more eras of dominance and championships. I doubt that all those teams would have such "great fan support" if their history was similar to the Bengals' history.

For as horrible as the Bengals have been, I think they have a pretty good fan base. However, how much can one fan take? Do you have to be content with going through another horrendous decade to be a "real fan"? You can only pour so much water into the container before it overflows.

  16. I'm starting to feel a bit foolish that I thought this team would be a contender this year. I didn't think they'd win the Super Bowl, but I thought they had as good a chance as any to win the division. Why on earth did I ever think that?! Did I base those assumptions on last year - because the '06 team was a bunch of mentally weak excuse makers. I therefore, must have chalked up '06 to a down year and expected the Bengals to return to the form they showed in '05. That was dumb!

Top 15 Players of the '05 Bengals

    1. Carson Palmer - Still the best, but doesn't have the same supporting cast.

    2. Chad Johnson - Still one of our better players, but can't perform in a big game if his life depended on it.

    3. Rudi Johnosn - Seems to be done.

    4. Levi Jones - Hasn't done much since his big contract except make Jared Allen look like a HOF.

    5. T.J. Whosyourmamma - Besides Carson, probably the best player on the '07 squad.

    6. Willie Anderson - Great locker room prescens (I guess), but he's finished.

    7. Deltha O'Neal - Has almost as many arrests as picks since the '05 season.

    8. Eric Steinbach - Browns.

    9. Odell Thurman - Smoking crack at construction site somewhere in GA.

    10. Rich Braham - Retired.

    11. Brian Simmons - Waterboy for the Saints.

    12. Chris Perry - MIA.

    13. Chris Henry - 'nuff said.

    14. Justin Smith - Great motor - Who gives a s$*t - every d@%n tackle he makes is ten yards down the field.

    15. Tory James - At a nursing home in South Dakota.

*** David Pollack - Although not one of the best of '05, he definately was "the future of the D".

  17. Why? What on earth has he done to earn the right to return?

    2003

    2004

    2005

Those excuses expired after a terrible year last year. There are no excuses for this season.

Although I wouldn't lose any sleep if Marvin got canned, I think he's not the problem. Like any other business, a professional football team is like a pyrimad. At the top of the Bengals pyrimad is Mike Brown. Everything stems from the top of the pyrimad and trickles all the way down to the base of the pyrimad. If Mike Brown is incompetent, then everything and everyone else will be incompetent - coaches, medical staff, players, etc. Therefore, Marvin is irrelevent - this team cannot change its stripes until Mike Brown Steps Down.

  18. Where is Ahmad Brooks? How bad is his groin injury? He hasn't played since the first game. He played well that game and has since done a wonderful impression of Frostee Rucker. If the guy's hurt, he's hurt. At least come out and say, Brooks has a significant injury and could be out the majority of the season, don't just wait till each Friday and say, oh he's still hurt and can't play.

The D looked a lot different in the game he did play in, but I don't know if that's just a coincidence. However, even if this season's a wash, hopefully he gets back in there soon, so we don't start next season with a guy in his third year who's basically a rookie. We need stability at the MLB!!!

  19. turk how do you see us 4-6 years from a contender...if we signed some defensive key free agents and got a nice pick to go along with them this offseason...arent we a contender next year?

A few replys above yours I gave nine reasons why I felt they were years away. I know it might be on the negative side, but I truely believe that all issues I listed are relevant and significant. I think if we had only two or three of those issues (like in '05) we'd be closer, but all of the issues pertain to the Bengals.
