It makes the site unusable for the purposes that I come here. If others enjoy it... fine. The desires of the many outweigh the needs of the few. But I miss the good ol' days when more reasonable posters like DPM and Shula were the "bad guys."
I think the annoyances caused by trolls of yesteryear fade with time. I can remember weeks when it was impossible to find anything amidst the DPM/Hair flamefests. Seriously annoying. As monotonous as Bearcat/Groundhog/whatever gets with the negativity, his comments at least focus on football, which is more than we can say about some the other trolls who have been here.
I generally just don't respond to people (not being specific here as to names) who can't express coherent thoughts or say something funny or interesting. People like that just aren't worth my time, and I don't much care what they say. That's why I don't entirely get why Groundhog bugs you so - if you think he's such a dink, don't let him get to you. As ya'll have said...even a troll can't have a conversation by himself. And I think others will probably not continue to engage with him when they've had the same conversation too many times.
As to the tone of the comments recently, bear in mind that the single biggest issue of late has been the contract negotiations with Andre, in which the Brown family played the central antagonist. With the deal signed and the season on the way, I think you'll see things change soon.
To bring this halfway on topic (and I think this is a response to Captain Herpes, Ron Mexico) - the question of whether Andre Smith makes or breaks the season is entirely up to Anthony Collins. I hope they can bring Smith along gradually, but if the right side caves in, they may not have the luxury.
I agree, it still like before is on Anthony Collins more than Andre. Who ever the fault, when he was not in training camp, the bed was made. We will go as far as Collins will take us (keeping Palmer upright that is). Nothing would make everyone happer than Collins keeping Andre in the reserves most of the year.

Maybe pissed should be replaced with dismay... I agree he is a stand up guy. I have only had seats since 2001. I'm in this year, but hope they show us some thing. It is odd, but I am kinda excited about our defence!?! Maybe with a few small peices, a little luck, the could really have a good year...

Here's a wacky suggestion, say we sign a free agent center and Levi is OK and back to form like Marvin is saying. Then we trade down with someone wanting Crabtree and we get a 1st and a 2nd, so now you have a mid round 1st and a high 2nd and a mid round 2nd. 3 first day picks.

Our club level guy says, do you have any interest in more tickets.... After I controlled my laughter I told him I will buy one additional ticket for every playoff game the bengals are in....
But really, there hasn't been any available seats in our section in years, so there must be some jumping ship.. I'm in for 09, but hope to see some fire!
Has anyone went the other way and bought more?
I figure it's either more Bengals tickets or more GM stock. Either way, I'm throwing away money.

Just thought a little more about it..... I don't even know if I would watch on tv, because 5 more years without playoffs mean that one, we are super unlucky, or two, mickey is just that clueless!!

Obviously me being in the Marines Corps hurts my chances of being able to have season tickets, but I go to any game within 400 miles from me. I went up to Buffalo in 2007 when Chad got hurt. I wouldn't give up my tickets. If you are a fan, you are a fan. You can't just quit on the team, all it takes is for our owner to get a few things right and we will be back in playoff contention. If it wasn't for a string of bad decisions and horrible luck they could be a perennial playoff team.
Just because we would give up our tickets, does not mean we are quiting. I live on the far side of dayton, so it is about a hour and a half there and about 2 1/2 back. So watching 10 games like last season not to mention the 6 grand for 5 more years does not sound like fun. 10 days are as important as the $. I would still watch on tv. Would that make me a quiter?

Do they get experience when the #18 wrecks the field because he is not racing for the points? (last year reference)...
I guess that arguement doesn't always work, as some regulars are out of it and do the same thing....

Here is the thing, I don't think they should be allowed to run the whole season....Unless they are a rookie, only at the sprint cup for 2 years or 3 wins at the cup level... what ever comes first...
Now I know the argument is that no one will go or tune in... Yes there is some trueth to the tune in, but as far as going, normally for most it is a weekend event.... I think the easy way to fix that is make everyone that has not won a title to run a 5 races or so... I understand that some don't so they could spend time with thier family, but hey it is for the good of the sport...
It was always my thought that that was like the minors to get you ready for the big show...

Lamont Jordan just signed for 2.5 for two years. Is he washed up? I assume he has a little gas, but I think the major difference is that cinci is expecting a full time back for 7 mil?
