    Saints | Team signs Kaesviharn

    Tue, 13 Mar 2007 15:43:44 -0800

Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the New Orleans Saints have signed free-agent S Kevin Kaesviharn (Bengals) to a four-year contract worth $10 million with $3.2 million guaranteed.

  2. Hard to think of a better GM? How about Bill Polian? Lets Edge go, and the ground game was the reason they won the Super Bowl.

I can't believe they have AJ Smith ranked so high. This is a guy akin to Jerry Jones, who lets his ego drive his personnel decisions. He should be much lower, IMO.

And how can Rich McKay be so high? Can you think of a single player on the Falcons that could be considered a solid acquisition over the last three seasons? Ed Hartwell? Lawyer Milloy? John Abraham? Ashley Lelie? Grady Jackson? I could continue.

definatley agree with you..i dont understand why he is ranke so him

  3. This is another one where people are freaking dreaming. Rhodes is basically a co-starter now - why in God's name would he sign with a team where the lead back gets 90% of the carries?

He will get overpaid by a team who brings him in and gives him a chance to start. We're not going to get Rhodes like we're not going to get Schaub at QB (which I've heard here lately) - they're not going to sign here to sit the bench.

    couldnt be more right

  4. Monk got screwed...he had the same numbers as Irvin did but Irvin got in. Irvin had a Troy Aikman throwing him the ball and art monk had average qbs throwin him the ball. Art Monk was never arrested and Irvin was. Irvin has a rep for being a coke head and Monk doesnt. Seems like the NFL got this one wrong...they should have waited a few more years on Irvin.

  5. Bengals.com

As Bengals defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan braced himself against a chilly wind at Wednesday’s arctic Senior Bowl workouts, he admitted all things are on the table for change in 2007.

From making free safety Madieu Williams a cornerback, to switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4, to isolating what area they need with what everyone is assuming is a defensive first-round pick at No. 18, Bresnahan stressed that it’s too early to lock into any direction

Madieu to move to cornerback then who plays free saftey? Kewain, draftpick??

  6. MARVIN TO COWBOYS?

Though we've not recently heard this one on the NFL grapevine, there was talk in the past that Bengals coach Marvin Lewis could be a candidate to replace Bill Parcells, once Parcells packed it in.

With Parcells retiring on the same day that news broke of a ninth Bengals arrest, could the planets be lining up for Marvin to make an exit from Cincinnati?

Though we're not suggesting that the Bengals are trying to push him out the door via, for example, the publication on the franchise's web site of comments from quarterback Carson Palmer that implicitly and indirectly throw rocks at Marvin for the presence and performance of turds on the team, we think that maybe, just maybe, the powers-that-be in Cincy would be inclined to let Marvin go for a bag full of money and a draft pick or two (or just a bag full of money) if Dallas owner Jerry Jones were inclined to inquire.

Then again, maybe Jones won't want him. While guys like defensive tackle John Thornton (whom he like and respect) say, "I don't see what else Marvin can do," the answer isn't what he can do going forward, it's what he could have done when drafting and signing the players who are now embarrassing themselves and the organization.

As our own Taco Bill pointed out, four of the team's eight draft picks from last April have been arrested. And Lewis is the guy who is ultimately pulling the trigger on those picks.

Then again, Jones was the guy who signed -- and thereafter zealously defended -- Terrell Owens. So maybe Jones and Lewis have far more in common that anyone realizes.

  7. There's Marvin, pre-explaining why they will be cheap. Fine. But it's bulls**t to call genuine talent overpriced. And anyone who watched Samuel remove Marvin Harrison from that game yesterday knows how big an impact he would have on the Bengals.

yeah i saw asante play yesterday and he did look good, real good...i was very impressed by the way he played therefore i cannot see anyway how the patriots will let him go...then again i thought that about branch, mcginist, viniteri, etc...
