jjakq27 brought up a good point. The Bengals last Sunday Night game was that horrible loss in Atlanta in 2002. The last MNF game was a 20-0 loss in Pittsburgh in 1992. We definately need to do well when we do get those rare Prime Time slots. The last time we won a primetime game was the 41-14 win over the Oilers on a Thursday Night game in 1997, when Dillon set the rookie rushing record for a game (broken later by Mike Anderson). The last time we won a MNF game was 1990, when we beat the Browns 34-13 in Cleveland. The last time we played a MNF game in Cincinnati was 1989, when we beat the Browns 21-14. Hopefully with the team getting better we'll see plenty of primetime, on Sunday night and Monday night, and even the Saturday games that kevnz mentioned!

The Bengals are a lock to get a sunday Night game. I'm hoping for the first Bengals MNF game since the 1992 season. Now, last time we finished 8-8 (1996)we didn't get a MNF game, but there wasn't nearly as much hype around the team back then so I'm hoping the Bengals will get at least one MNF game. You know teams like the Raiders will get at least one MNF game despite their record, so we should get at least one. I want the Dallas game to be a MNF game. I wan't the Buffalo game to be Sunday NIght, or the game at New England.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I've heard numerous ideas. One would be a black helmet with white Stripes, another was a white helmet with Black stripes (giving the uniform that White tiger effect). Personally, I like the uniforms the way they are. Actually, I liked it better before they put the tiger on the sleeve and changed the socks to black (the changes occured right before the 97 season). But I'm all for a change as long as the helmets stay the same. Those helmets are the best in the league in my humble opinion.

Marvin Lewis has said in past interviews thats the uniform pants and shirt will change a bit, but he said the helmets would remain the same.

The thing on Palmer is this.......
We won't know what kind of a player he is going to be until he plays. He may end up being great, he has all the physical tools, and I've heard some experts compare him to a young Troy Aikman. But as we also know, he could end up being a bust. We won't really know until he plays. Its one thing to torch the Lions backups in a game, but its when he has Ray lewis or Joey Porter in his face is when we'll get the real test. I agreed with Marvin Lewis in playing Kitna all year. Kitna was very good, and he gave the team the best chance to win. And I think there should be a QB competition. I don't think Palmer should be handed the job. I don't really mind if he sits awhile. Steve McNair sat awhile, Steve Young spent all those years behind Montana. If Palmer is the real deal, it will show no matter if he starts next season or two seasons for now. If Kitna is still the better QB when next year rolls around , then I'll want him to play. If Palmer is the better man, then I'll want him to play. I think Palmer will be very good, and he'll have a much better team around him to raise his game when he starts. He'll be a lot better off than Klingler or A Smith. Palmer will be good guys, don't worry about that. But i'd leave it to Marvin Lewis to decide when he is the man ready to take us to football glory.

Any DB help would be greatly appreciated! Tory James did very well, especially early in the season. He needs help. Its nice to talk about potentially great corners coming to Cincinnati isn't it?? We've come a long way since the days of Rod Jones..................

I would never argue with gaining a player with the abilities of Jevon Kerse. Makes me wonder if he would be interested playing beside John Thorton again.......

As far as how hard the schedule is, its all a matter of perception. First thing, in the division games, records go out the window. The Browns definately showed us that in the last game of the season. Anyone can win no matter how bad or how good. My take on the rest of the schedule:
Home:
-------------------------
MIAMI---We don't traditionally play them very well. As a matter of fact, we have never beat the Dolphins since I've watched the Bengals (since 84). Hopefully we can change that trend next year.
BUFFALO-- Another team we haven't played well. Haven't beat them in the regular season since 1988, or AFC Championship, we need to change that to
DALLAS-- I'm really looking forward to this one. Parcells vs Lewis. This should be a Monday Night or Sunday Game.
NY GIANTS-- The Giants have never won in Cincinnati during a regular season game. I look for that to continue.
DENVER-- They always trounce us. Besides Dillon's game in 2000, we hadn't beat them since 1981.
Away:
--------------------------
JETS--Haven't beat them in the regular season since the 1990 opener. Came very close in 01' but lost 15-14. I look for that to change.
PATRIOTS-- WHEW!! This will be tough. I feel it should be another nationally telivised game.
WASHINGTON--A very rare team for us to play, haven't faced them since 1991.
EAGLES-- Who could forget the 97 game we lost 44-42??? This will be another huge assignment.
TENNESSEE-- Two of three games we have played there have been close. We lost 36-35 in 99', and won 23-21 in 01'. It will be hard but perhaps an upset will occur.

Nothing wrong with dreaming about Baily or McCallister. You never know.....
however I would love it if Plummer came to the Bengals. Kevnz, I agree with you totally on the point of nothing like a player wanting to go home to play and being passionate about the team he plays for. He would be a serious upgrade to the secondary, and as stated earlier a lot cheaper. Sure I'd love to log on to the Bengals official website and see "Baily Signs contract" or "McCallister Agrees to terms of Bengals contract", but in the end I do think Plummer is a lot more realistic choice. And he is a very good DB.

Ok, I'm going to lists my favorites. the list is going to cover the time frame I've been a Bengals fan (1984-Present):
(1) Boomer Esiason QB (That wasn't obvious by my name was it?)
(2) Corey Dillon RB ( I know he has an attitude, but I'm basing this off my enjoyment watching him play the game)
(3) Carl Pickens WR (Same situation as Corey, based on my enjoyment watching him play; but Chad Johnson is closing the gap fast!)
(4) Rodney Holman TE (He was a beast...with good hands!)
(5) Anthony Munoz (HALL OF FAME.....nothing else needs to be said)
(6) Jim Breech K
(7) Lee Johnson P
(8) Tim Krumrie NT
(9) Reggie Williams LB
(10) Eric Thomas CB
(11) David Fulcher S
These are just a few, I tried to cover all general areas of both offense and defense. Of course Boomer is #1 overall to me.

I too believe Marvin Lewis should be NFL coach of the year, on ANY poll, whether its AP poll, Staples poll... But you know what doomed him from getting the award? The last two games of the season pretty much sealed Marvin's fate. If the Bengals had beat the Rams and Browns and made the playoffs, it would have been impossible to deny Marvin the coach of the year. But despite all Marvin did to transform the Bengals from 2-14 to 8-8, most polls are not going to give coach of the year to a man who didn't get his team to the playoffs. Its all politics. Personally, I think Marvin did way more with less talent than Belicheck or Parcells did with their teams. Lets put it this way, if Marvin was coaching the Patriots would they be just as successful as they are with Belicheck? If Belicheck was coaching the Bengals would they have at least finished 8-8? We'll never know the answer to this, but what we do know is a playoff coach will almost always get a coaching award over a non playoff coach. Once again, its politics. If the Bengals had made it to the postseason, Marvin would have got all the awards. But as all Bengal fans know (and even some non-Bengal fans), Marvin Lewis is the Coach of the Year!!!!!! I look forward to him taking us to the playoffs next year!!!

I'm in the Air Force (5 1/2 yrs), and I'm currently stationed in Mountainhome, AFB Idaho. Your right, it is nice to talk football with fellow service members. I had the Sunday Ticket running through two TV's in my house, so my two good buddies would share a TV to watch their favorite teams ( Ravens and Browns) while I always watched the Bengals on the big TV. Even though the Bengals fell just short in the division race, it was fun watching the season with fans of other teams in the AFC North. And thank you guys for all the service you did for America, its because of what you guys have done and gone through that Americans can have the freedom to sit and enjoy the games! Thank you!

I just wanted to say hello to all my fellow Bengal fans, I'm glad to finally be a member here. I've been a Bengals fan since Boomer's rookie year, and I either saw every game on TV or heard it on the radio up until 2002 when I got stuck in Kuwait for six months (Obviously I'm in the Military, I wouldn't take a nice relaxing vacation to Kuwait by choice) but even over in the Middle East I always managed to find out the score to the Bengals game. This year I got the Sunday Ticket, so I didn't miss one snap this season. Sure 8-8 isn't out of this world, but I had so much fun watching the team this year, especially seeing Marvin Lewis on the sidelines. We got something special started here, and with a few free agents and a few good draft picks, we could be going places. I hadn't been this excited since Boomer's 4-1 run to close out the 1997 season. I won't go on and on but I just wanted to say I'm happy to be here with you guys to discuss our Cincinnati Bengals!
