  1. Sure, it's nice to have good guys on the team, and there are plenty of those guys. If you want a guy with a sparkling rap sheet, there are plenty to choose from. But when it really comes down to it, people don't watch football to see nice guys.

It's nice to see a guy who can be both a great player and a good citizen (like Palmer)... but the fact that not every Bengal fits into that mold doesn't bother me that much.

now you guys sound like Ravens fans a few years back, but seriously, i have to say this now before you play oakland but you have more arrests than victories - impressive for a playoff team :P

although henry alone has 3 or 4 this calendar year???

    cheerio!

  2. sorry don't really want to start a new thread but i didn't know where i should add on. so here goes!

good game Thursday, yall took it to us and earned a hard fought win.

marvin and co. brought their A game.

Good luck the rest of the way - ill be rooting against you :) - and perhaps we'll meet in January???

    laterz

  3. YPC is overrated because its not simply a matter of yards, sometimes, especially in Baltimore's case, the number of attempts, the committment it what counts. Obviously, you can't have a 2.3 YPC necessarily, but every rb's attempt usually fall between 3.5 and 4.5. So of course you want that 4.5 or better still the 5.5 I believe Portis had his rookie year but its not essential to success.

Its like how the Bengals are 16-0 when Rudi carries 25 times or more. Quite often, the ability to reach that number is not directly correlated to success (4.5 v 3.5) For example, if Jamal gets 5 yards on 2 carries, more likely than not (ok that's relative, i think we convert 40% on third downs overall), McNair converts the 3rd and 5. That's why I say its overrated. (what is Rudi's YPC anyway? did someone say 3.9?? i honestly don't know not being smart!)

Fassel got fired because he wasn't putting in time in the office and taking player's suggestions into account.

As much as I credit Billick for an offensive scheme and resulting success, playcalling IMO is overrated considering that execution is what matters most.

Concerning Ray Lewis, you guys can yap about the murder rap all day long. he was acquitted and there is no evidence that he killed anybody. so continue to insult him, hey better yet do it at the game. I hope you are close enough so he here's you. Nothing motivates our defense more than calling our best player a murderer.

All im saying is, of all fans besides Dallas..or San Diego, Bengals fans shouldn't be throwing stones.

  4. the Ravens weren't "clicking" when they won last time out against Cincinnati either.

you guys were the better team last year and we have tonite's game for you to try and even the ledger. regardless, we're still in control of the division, so you have a lot more work to do than just tonite.

if Chad was talking smack, I'd buy it, when TJ Wheresyourhelmet talks trash, I think he's just bitter about getting played by an undrafted rookie nickelback to seal the game......

  5. Lewis has a 3.6 YPC

yards per carry, like playcalling, is overrated

He should be returned to Prison :police:

coming from a bengals fan? happy when henry's breathalyzer results get thrown?? where's your middle linebacker???

seriously, my boy doesn't need 100 yards either, he had 60 yards in the first half vs. Pittsburgh and then we salted him away.

with McNair around, we don't need 2003 Jamal, just 2006 Jamal.

but don't take my word for it.

  6. it's safe to say Cinci has their heads on a bit straighter than Baltimore does right now. It would be hard for any team not to be sky high with the season Baltimore is having.

ERRONEOUS! The Ravens are looking at nothing more than 10-2 this week. This is a veteran team that isn't satisfied with dismissing the very poor Stealers. I'm not saying you can't win, I'm just saying please don't think we're overlooking anybody. Your defending division champs right?

...and just like the prodigal 2,000 yard back I have returned.

  7. Of course we're still not 100% positive about him taking steroids, but I think it's about 99.99% likely that he's a lying bastard, and he's known all along that it WASN'T flax seed oil, or something for arthritis.

That was a laugh-out-loud line, wasn't it? What a schmuck. Y'know, if he'd just admit it and apologize it'd all blow over and he'd at least get points for honesty. Instead, he decides the best course of action is to insult everyone's intelligence...

And admit that he lied to a grand jury? Um no. Bonds knew what he was taking too, he just cant come clean now.

I don't condone what Bonds has done, I have always defended him but not anymore. These 'roids helped keep him young when Father Time should have set in.

That being said, he is still the greatest hitter of our generation.

Giambi was a chump and is a chump now. Bonds knew what he was taking too, he just cant come clean now.

Bottom line to me is that its messed up and every player not named Ken Griffey since 1990 should have an asterisk by their name.

  8. Just beat Pittsburgh for me and you'll be in the Top Ten for the all important power rankings.

After you beat KC last year you were everybody's glory boys so its either "THEY'RE BACK" or "THEY'RE STILL THE BUNGLES"

LIke I said before, do me a favor and beat Pittsburgh. The Steelers D is only as good as their lead so get up on them early and you have a great chance.

    :player:

  9. In his Wednesday news conference, Denver coach Mike Shanahan took exception to criticism of Foster's block by Steelers coach Bill Cowher.

"All teams do it," said Shanahan, who invited reporters to the Broncos' video room to show them film clips of other teams throwing chop-blocks. "In the game, Cincinnati had a number of them. I was a little offended with Bill Cowher's statement."

I do not remember any Bengal player pulling off a chop block. Was I watching every single lineman, of course not, who can during a live game. My question: Is Shanahan correct? Do all teams, even Cincinnati do this?

Regardless, if one team, 5 teams, or all teams do it, it needs to stop. Ending a player's season or maybe his career is unforgivable when it happens deliberately. If a player is shoved or falls into someone's leg, that is an unfortunate accident. Foster's digusting play was no accident. The league needs to do something about this. You have to be v-e-r-y careful around QBs, but lineman are wide open for serious injury???

    Full Enquirer Article

Well he is right in reality its just that nobody uses the chop block as their exclusive mantra and technique for the offensive line except his team.

Their o-lines under Shanahan have always been the dirtiest.

  10. No Jamal. No Heap. Now, no Ogden.

    We're gonna get killed...

I love my team, but the Eagles are a little better than the Bills

    Surely you jest!

We are definite underdogs but that is when Baltimore and Coach Billick are at their best.

We'll show up and we'll shock the pundits.

  11. No offense to their fans, or the hard and clean playing Broncos

What are you talking about?? The Broncos are notoriously the dirtiest offensive line unit in the league. That is all their offensive line does is chops low at the ankles. They are cowards and would rather hurt you than just man up and push you over.

When we beat them like dogs during our Superbowl season, that is all the Ravens talked about was how their o-line just tries to creep behind you and take you out. That is the main reason their running game is so good b/c as a defensive player you never know where the next "illegal" block is coming from.

The Broncos and Mike Shanahan are nothing more than cowards

    Billick also OWNS Shanahan

  12. It does not take "orange and black binders" to see the pitiful moral condition of the NFL and how they apologize for the criminal actions of the players.  Lewis knew he was going to the NFL, but decided to get a start with big money by being involved with the drug trade.  Don't say it was harmless; ask the widow and daughters of Ken Cammenitti how harmless cocaine is.  I stand on what I said about Billick: of all the NFL coaches I have seen, he is the most arrogant, biggest jerk!  End of story.

You're not arrogant if you know you're better :D

  13. Dan: A sign of or time and the morality which has been reversed. Years ago you were made to feel ashamed if you committed a crime against the public. Today's athletes, especially the stars, are apologized for by their coaches. Makes me sick, especially the sleazy, arrogant Billick; he is worse than the criminals on his team. His day is coming to eat humble pie; hope it is soon!

Your head coach has vehemently defended Ray Lewis on every occasion about his involvement in Atlanta in 2000.

    Is Marvin sleazy too??

Take off your orange and black blinders
