Just a few points here...
1) This is not the smack forum. Edge posted a great thread and most are contributing to it.
2) Edge was right about this being just another game. Like with the Texans. That is what our players and coaches have been saying for 2 weeks. They are not all about the media hype...they don't care. They are going to practice to play them like they practice against any other team (Just hopefully they don't practice for this one like they practiced for the Jags and Steelers - lol)
3) Against the Ravens on the 6th people called out the Bengals as a Finess team and it really pissed off Willie and the OL & DL. I cannot speak for Carson, but I'm sure that he didn't mean it that way. If you listen to a lot of his sound bites, you will catch him talking about Manning. His respect for Manning and what him and Harrison do. Chad has that same respect. Heck, how many player combo's will admittinglty go to another teams game to watch the chemestry of 2 players in person? I think that shows class and repsect from Carson and Chad to Manning and Harrison.
Colts have been a top Offense for quite a few years now. Their D has come into their own. They are a very ballanced team and come into town with swagger. It's going to be a fun contest to watch and be a part of (of course I'm going! PBS is going to be loud...I prolly won't be able to talk all next week! - lol) and here is looking forward to an injury free game for both teams!

Chris Henry is practicing to put his hands ANYWHERE but near his helmet after a TD. He may come up with the first "Jock strap adjustment dance" ever!
I bet you Odel stays away from the trampoleen this week. Man he has came up with 2 superman impressions - lol.

2. it was a blown call
3. Shobel was holding the ball in the wrong hand! Coaches teach you to hold the ball AWAY from defenders and/or in the hand nearest to the sidelines! It's one of the first things you learn at a skill position so if the ball is stripped it has a higher chance to go out of bounds. Elementary mistake by a veteran TE.
I'll also add that I think the call was correct as far as granting the Ravens the ball at the fumble. Under the circumstances had they not done that all heck would have broken loose. They did keep in mind that since the whistle was blown a good amount of the Bengals stopped on the play and didn't persue. Had they gave the TD to the Ravens I would have been really hacked off.

That is a cool setup. It took my genius self around a full minute to realize that defense and special teams were also included in this handy feature.

First thing...it will take more than just crowd noise to throw off Manning. It would be better to say that the noise will throw off his line...causing false starts, etc.
Secondly we are not being treated as the "no respect" Bengals anymore. We haven't been all season. People are coming to play against us, no one is looking past us now. The game was moved from 1:00 to 4:15 due to play-off implications and national interest.
Think they did that because they think the Bengals are nobodies?
No, they did it because of the impact the game will have on the AFC...plus the fact that Indy stands a chance to come into the game undefeated..in Cinci.
Should be fun...I'll be at the game!

I just don't see it with Reggie White and Aikman in it this year.
Kenny was a great QB, don't get me wrong. He deserves to be in the HoF! But in reality he isn't going to beat these 2 to get in.

I think Brat did well in the first 4 games. I think he has become a little conservative.
I'm not complaining about him being conserative...just don't be too much. Palmer and light up a D with 5-12 pass playes anywhere on the field. But D's notice that. We have not really opened up the field as much as I would like to see. Now since we seem to have a handle on our penalty issues and calmed down a bit, I think it is time.

I am not one to be happy about an injury. No matter what uniform or jersey one puts on if you have played sports you know how bad some injuries hurt! Dislocated knee, collar bone, etc. So I'm not happy to hear Ben went under the knife and I pray for him to have a FULL recovery.
Now, I also see this as an opportunity for the Bengals to pick up some breathing room. If the Ravens game was not a "must win" before...it certainly is now! The Packers are NOT as bad as their 1-6 record shows. They have lost by close margins all year. Their one win was a route! I think with Ben out the Pack can take the Steelers.
The browns are another question. However, you must remember this is the NFL. They are ALL pro teams. Just ask the Bucs about the loosing to the 49's. Any given Sunday.

I see this team acquiring a NT and going to a 3-4 defense oneday..
Hell Thornton and Robinson are DE by trade...Stick a NT between them and you have a formidable Dline with Geathers and Clemons in the rotation... Shaun Smith as backup NT in this scheme....
Our 4 backers would be free to hit gaps and blitz more ....

I have been thinking about his as well. Perhaps Marv is doing just that. perhaps he wants to get the right LB's for the 3-4 option before he aquired a NT. Our DE's are capable of working in a 3 front scheme IMO with an option LB coming in from the backfield.

Marv has always liked fast guys who swarm to the ball. Once he gets the guys who are fast and can shed blocks this D will have his sig. Marv likes to get guys with the tools and smarts, then teach the skills, rether then get the opposite.
He is a firm believer that 11 guys have to attack the ball carrier. He isn't much on blitzing and believes that the front 4/5 should be able to pressure the QB. He has the DB's (specially when WIlliams is healthy) to provide the time for the front line to get to the QB. Our front line just does not intimidate anyone. I like Robinson a lot...he has shown me enough to be glad we picked him up. We just need somone bigger and stronger to compliment him. (Sorry JT...I hope we keep you, but I don't see you as a starter next year.) Hit next years draft and pick up the best DT you can find...maybe 2 in case one doesn't work out...or just for the compitition it will provide for Robinson, Thorton, Clemons, etc.
We are getting there. Our LB corps should be top 10...or even top 5 in the next 2-3 years with the development of Johnson, Miller, DP and Odel. That would be a nice 4 LB set with either Miller or Simmons in there.
Anyhow...it's getting there. Marv seen more of a weakness in the LB corp then the DL...hopefully he will see that the LB's are in good shape now and that our dire need is DL, TE then SS.

I use to go to Tickets Sports Cafe in Covington to watch games and see good people and friends. The bar is a charter Packers Bar. There are a mass of Packer fans that go there to watch the games. ALL of them are great people with game knowledge and like poke fun and joke around. I have yet to meet a "butt head" Packer fan.
I personally have not had any issues with opposing team fans. After a win I just yell "WHO-DEY" and "Good game" and give a high 5 to anyone wearing the "wrong" jersey.
No reason to be a butt head over a game. Some people come from far away to watch their team play and spend big $$$$$ in the process. If they do that and their team looses the least anyone can do is be polite and respectful and at least help make the trip a little better for them. When they get home it's always better for them to say "Yeah, we lost, the outcome sucked and it was a long ride home...but at least the Bengal fans were nice and fun unlike *place X teams division rival here* fans!
Anyhow...treat opposing fans like how you WANT to be treated when going to an away game.

Naw...I don't think Justin would be the one.
I really see Robinson being the leader to do that, evdn tho he is only in his first year as a Bengal. Simmins is too quiet and isn't a vocal leader. JT is a vet but isn't outspoken. I have read things Robinson has said and he has laid it out there a few times. He talked about missing tackle, him personally not filling his gap and such.
We get another big body to set next to Robinson I think the run D will get much better.

Unfortunatly he was out of bounds.
While he was coming down his left foot hit the back of his right ankle and never touched the ground untill his right hand hit out of bounds. His elbow hit shortly after.
It was close....REAL close. However, I think Cohwer would have taken the call either way. He did the right thing buy challenging the call to slow momentum. When it showed that CJ was out of bounds...he not only slowed our momentum...he switched it all together to the Steelers. You could even point to this play as the turning point/game making play of the game. We make that TD (points at Henry) we go up 7-0 instead of 0-0. Next drive we get 3...or 7 with the momentum, then you see less of the 'Bengal killing bus'.
I hope our guys have learned their lesson, and will not repeat the mistakes! When they mature a little more, they will not let these things hold them back.

I missed the first 2 weeks and started out dead last...now I'm around 34th place. Keep moving up each week. I don't have a chance in hell to win the video, but it's fun.

Well, if you want to look at it that "at this pace" the Bengals will beat the Ravens record...then you need to be fair and look at Indy's as well. They have given up less points then we have...so "at their pace" they will allow even less.
It doesn't really matter..I don't care about beating the 2000 Raven defence, I care about beating the 2005 Ravens....TWICE!
Then winning a SB of course....but one step at a time. JAX, here we come!

11-5 or one more win then the second place team in the division...whichever is better!

We have Jacksonville, TENNESSEE -then- the Steelers.
Playing 2 road games in a row can wear down a team...I'm hoping we can beat them both then have a nice home-comming against the Steelers. By the time we get though those games then play GB and Balt....we will be well over due for that Bye week.
Im glad we get 2 weeks to get healthy and game plan for Indy! this could very well be 2 undefeated teams going at it on Nov. 20.
