That may be, but if he wants to win, then he's not helping himself OR the team.
-
They said he's just right over 250.
-
Does anyone really think sending all these jerseys to him will faze him? I doubt it. He's gone to the dark side.
-
I don't know. But I do know that you don't tell your quarterback to mind his own business, because as the leader of the team, Chad IS his business.
-
I have found that the most common complaint wasn't the individuals that were picked, but when they were picked. Even giving Mikey and Marvin the benefit of the doubt, there have been numerous times that they took a player that would probably have been available on their next pick, especially in Day 2.
Or, even if that player were gone, someone who could fill the role would still be around. Chris Perry is a case in point. There's no doubt the Bengals needed to grab a change-of-pace guy to team with Rudi, but using a first-round pick on a third-down back is a dubious decision, to say the least. Especially when they passed over Vince Wilfork to do it. Smarter would have been to target a prospect like Mewelde Moore, who went in the 4th round a few selections after the bengals chose...Askew.
I think you guys are forgetting that at the time they drafted Perry, Rudi wasn't a proven back. The Bengals couldn't be sure that his '03 production would be repeated. I doubt they had any intention of drafting a third down back in the first round. I believe their intentions were to draft Perry in case Rudi was a one year wonder.

Why are we still floating trade ideas? The Bengals AREN'T going to trade him.
-
The article was about how he used to respect and admire Chad, not about why he's acting like an idiot. Who cares what Chad's pissed about? The issue is how he's going about dealing with the fact that he's pissed. The bottom line is he's acting like a 5 year old not getting his way and it's freakin retarded.
-
This may be childish, but when I logged on and saw a thread titled "The Ulitmate Pole" I started cracking up.
-
Well, maybe with Chad outta the way, the team might come together and play better, ala the Giants during the playoffs last year. Who knows? But I'm not getting my hopes up...
-
OK, he wants a new contract to make more money. Chad's already made millions off of the Bengals. What's more money going to accomplish? He's made enough to live the rest of his live in royalty. Most people that win the lottery, are happy and quit their jobs. You noticed I said most not all. Some get bored not working. But they are happy with the money that they've won. Chad has made money off of the Bengals and endorsements. He doesn't need any more. I hope the Bengals stand their ground and don't give him another dime, until he fulfills his obligation to the sweet contract that he signed already.
It could be a pride thing. Maybe he thinks he's underpaid cause there's receivers who aren't as talented as him making more money. That's what TO's thing was.
Aside from that, Rosenhaus may NOT have anything to do with what Chad's doing. Chad could be calling TO and asking for advice. Afterall, this IS 2005 all over again.

Who's this Fredo person?
Duuuude. Godfather II. Michael Corleone finds out his brother, Fredo, was tight with the guys that tried to whack him. There is a brilliant scene where Michael tells Fredo he's dead to him. It is a freaking classic. Rent the movie. Excellente.
To be honest, I've never seen any of the Godfather movies....lol

Yeah, and when the Eagles lost that game, what did TO do?
-
Not worth the risk.
Yea its not worth the risk for a 25 year old sack master. Does anyone remember that Allen is the one that made everyone in the league get down on Levi, he beat him so bad that they pulled Levi out of the game. Frankly, he got a DUI which is f**ked up but it isn't that serious. You guys are crazy to think he isn't worth it. Allen is high intensity and he would come in and unf**k our defense. We would draft Rivers or a DT in round one and get odell back and our defense would be back!
Yeah, that's all great til he gets a DUI. You ever think about that? He didnt' have one DUI, he had two, in a year. The next one gets him the Odell treatment I'm sure.
-
I agree. Hey Chad: You're fired.
-
Not worth the risk.
-
That looks slightly uncomfortable.
-
Yeah, that's pretty good.
-
I dunno. We got a tough schedule, a porous defense, one proven WR, and injury uncertainty at RB and OL. That's a lot to overcome.
On the upside, we still got Palmer, and we picked up Utecht....
-
If we've learned anything from history, it's that when a player threatens to sit out, he never does. I don't know why they keep threatening with that cause no one ever follows through.
-
I think everyone's pessimistic about the season because they all saw what happened to the Eagles when TO went postal on them they way Chad's going postal on us.
-
I respectfully disagree with you about Alexander. We've drafted some pretty good lineman while he's been here and the line has performed fairly well for the most part. Last year was bad because of injuries and having to shuffle people around and such. If Willie and Levi stay healthy this year, I think you'll see a different offense than last year.
-
You know, Dillon (except for 2003) and Pickens played for awful teams. I don't really consider this team to be awful. Yeah, the defense was ranked 21 last year, but the offense has been in the top ten for the last three years. I hardly think that compares. What i think is going on is this: Marvin told him to quit taking plays off, become a team player, and stop acting like a child. I'm sure Chad didn't like that at all and now he wants out. He's been able to do whatever he damn pleases for so long.
-
he does tell it like it is...the bengals truly need to put a better product on the field and he is letting them know
Are you actually so blind that you don't see that he's a part of the reason they haven't been able to put a better product on the field? There are a lot of players there upset with losing. You know what they're doing? Practicing together. Trying to get better together. Watching tape. Trying to become a better team. He's the only one whining and crying about it. The only time Chad goes all out is when his number is called. He won't block. He half-ass runs routes when he's not the primary target, I don't even know why we resigned him for that long of a contract.

I agree to a point. Everyone up here drooling all over the place thinking about who the Bengals will get is akin to a kid in a candy store. Has it crossed anyone's mind that the Bengals may intend NOT to trade him? As much as it will suck this year with him as a distraction, I would love to see an NFL team stick it to one of these rich, spoiled, malcontent, infantile players and let him sit. If he shows up on week 10 the Bengals do have to make a spot on the roster for him, but they don't have to play him. If he starts running his mouth, suspend him.
Anyway, that's what I think...
