Drew may be an assclown, but he can't physically make a player hold out. The players make their own decisions to hold out. I think it's more the players decision to do so more than any influence Drew has on them. I think he's getting a bad rap for hold outs because everyone who's unhappy with their contract flocks to Rosenhaus because he's as good as he is. Don't get me wrong, I don't like him either. But it's not his decision for these players to hold out, it's the players.
It especially pissed me off when he went public claiming how underpaid Chad was. I'm just glad Chad had the class to say he won't hold out and his play will dictate his pay.

My suggestion had nothing to do with what Marvin wants. It was just a thought. Get your panties out of a bunch.
It only makes sense to do that when you have more talent at LB than at DL.
-
I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out the Thurman pick. Maybe it's for depth and they think they're going to lose Webster. But after the way Landon performed last year, I think we've found a starting middle linebacker. Maybe with all our talent at linebacker, and lack thereof at DL, maybe we should switch to 3-4. Just a thought.....

Hard to argue with that.

I wouldn't go that far. He's got a Superbowl ring now, and for some voters, that's all that matters. I don't think he's HOF material either, but some of the people that actually get to vote for that are on crack.

I'm interested in who you think wins the North this year.
-
I think it's a great idea.

Wow. Settle down, Beavis. We have many other players who could do just as good as Myles on coverage that can also contribute as a backup more adequately than he does.
-
1. Chad Johnson
2. Rudi Johnson
3. Carson Palmer
4. Madieu Williams
5. Justin Smith
6. Brian Simmons
7. Landon Johnson
8. TJ Houshmanzadeh
9. Jon Kitna
10. Willie Anderson

Much as I hate to say it, I think the Browns will be a good team in a couple of years. Crennel will get some free agents in there that Butch Davis couldn't. He'll also draft a helluva lot better than Davis.

What gets me as that Billick was all pissed that the judge wouldn't let Jamal go to penal camp near Baltimore so he could work out with the team. WTF?? He outta be pissed that Lewis had anything to do with dealing drugs. Instead of berating him for doing something illegal, Billick's huffin' and puffin' cause the state won't let him come to training camp. What a loser.

Thanks Ickey
No problem.

Does it annoy anyone else on Madden how rookies awareness is so low, but then it never progress high at all? I mean, people like Ray Lewis have an awareness of 99, but in the game no one can progress that high. Say you draft someone with an awareness of 70. They never progress past 80. That burns me up. What up with that?

I know. It just burns me up that so many people think he's great when he's not. Special teams are important, don't get me wrong, but couldn't we get someone who plays just as good on special teams coverage that has a clue at their normal position? Myles gets burned everytime he's out there trying to cover a receiver.

The center doesn't get the ball to where it needs to go. The quarterback does. The quarterback is basically a coach on the field. He has to direct traffic, and let people know what they did wrong. But, football is also a team sport. If one part doesn't work, none of it does. So it's really hard to say definately which one is more important than the other. I say they're all important.
Excuse me? If the center doesn't get the ball to where it needs to go, they call it a busted play. There are plays in the NFL that don't use the QB at all. You can directly snap the ball to the running back. However, there are NO plays where the center doesn't touch the ball. Without the center, the QB is dead.
The QB is a coach on the field? His job is to call the play that his coach gives him via headset. It's not like it used to be where the QB called all the plays at the line. There are still audibles, but the QB only calls the play about 10% of the time. He does direct his backfield and receivers, 4 people, telling them where to go. (RB, FB, WR, WR). The center, on the other hand, directs blocking schemes, telling his two tackles, his tight end, and his two guards what to do and who to block.
Dream on if you think QB is so crucial. IF it's so important, why are there so many QBs in the league whos only job is to NOT LOSE the game for their team?
If you can find me one center in the league who can't get the ball to the quarterback, then I'll concede your point. It's not the center's ability to get the ball to the quarterback that makes him important. Anyone who can't do that isn't in any league. Period. The center doesn't make the play happen, the quarterback does. However, if the o-line doesn't block, the quarterback doesn't get a chance to do anything. Hence, I think this debate is ludicrous. There's not one position more important than the other. It takes all eleven positions on each side of the ball working together to make a winning team.
If your definition of the word "coach" is "one who calls the plays", then who are all those people standing on the sideline every Sunday calling themselves coaches. Coaches teach, direct, and call people out when they make mistakes. Which is what a good quarterback does on the field in between plays when they don't get a chance to run over to the sideline for that to happen.

Dude, that guy didn't come in here flaming and disrespecting the Bengals. Why you hatin' on him? He could just as easily point out the Bengals haven't been that great for the last fifteen years, but he didn't.
-
I agree. I think Graham is great.
Justin Smith is a good player, too. It's not his fault he's the only good lineman we've had on our team the whole time he's been here. I'm fairly optimistic this year, though. With Geathers and Robinson inserted into the lineup, I think the D-line will be a strength this year.
-
He may be a good special teams guy, but he sucks at cornerback.

I'm sure Pollack's got enough going trying to learn a new position. Maybe when he's got the linebacker thing down pat, then he can learn a little fullback.
pfft all he needs to do is find a hole and run through it
+ he's played fullback he never played LB
He also has to be able to read the defense and know who he has to block. If he doesn't know that, he isn't doing us much good.

Krenzel didn't win games last year due to anything he did. The games the Bears won last year with Krenzel at the helm were won by defense and special teams. I watched him on the Monday Night game, and he was awful. While he might get better with experience, I like Bramlet cause of his skills and knowledge of the playbook. Bramlet's been in the system for two years now. Krenzel has to learn it from scratch.

While agree that the points allowed is an important stat, how can you say turnovers are not? If we get turnovers, they aren't scoring. 9 times out of 10, who has the most turnovers wins. While stopping the run is indeed important, I think getting turnovers ranks right up there in importance.

What kind of moron are you?!?!? What kind of 3-4 has no nose tackle? Please don't post here again until you have an idea of what you're talking about. Idiot.
