Ike to Hit Bengals

Not that it's important in the grand scheme of things -- Texas has a lot more to concern itself with than a football game -- but Reliant Stadium looks down for the count with roof damage and it's looking more and more like the Texans/Ravens game will have to be postponed or moved. I cant see a move since they have no time to sell tickets. So postponement seems likely to me, and Florio floats the possibility that could impact the benals schedule as well:

RAVENS-TEXANS POSTPONED?

Posted by Mike Florio on September 13, 2008, 11:44 a.m. EDT

The last line of the Houston Chronicle story regarding the damage to Reliant Stadium mentions without discussion that Monday night’s game between the Ravens and Texans will be postponed.

We’re trying to get more information about this. If it’s a true postponement, then our guess is that the league will move the Bengals-Texans game from Week Ten to Week Eight, and schedule the Ravens and Texans to play each other during Week Ten.

This would also move the Bengals’ bye week from Week Eight to Week Ten. The Texans currently are scheduled to have a bye during Week Eight, and the Ravens are scheduled to have their bye in Week Ten.

The other possibility would be to play the game at a neutral site on Monday night. Atlanta has been mentioned as a potential location.

Stay tuned.

Edit: Reliant definitely out:

It's official:

With Hurricane Ike washing out this week's Ravens game in Houston, the Bengals road game against the Texans has been moved to Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. That had been Cincinnati's bye week, which is now Nov. 9.

It's just their third November bye since 1991 and first since 2005. Like this year, that bye came after the ninth game. The Bengals went into that one 7-2.
