Arroyo smooth in Reds loss

Reds at the plate: Jeff Conine had a two-run double in the fourth inning for Cincinnati's only two runs. Josh Hamilton was 1-for-2 with a single and a run scored.

Reds on the mound: Bronson Arroyo was smooth in his Grapefruit League debut. Arroyo worked two scoreless innings and faced the minimum six batters. He allowed one hit and struck out three. Dustin Hermanson worked one perfect inning with one strikeout in his debut in relief. Homer Bailey allowed five earned runs and three hits over two-thirds of an inning. Bailey walked two and hit a batter while also giving up two home runs.

Grapefruit League records: Reds 6-2-1; Indians 7-2.

Up next: These two teams will meet again Saturday at 1:05 p.m. ET, this time in Winter Haven. Paul Wilson is slated to pitch for Cincinnati against Jake Westbrook.
