oldschooler
Wouldn't you argue that Dillon is was elite? Marvin doesn't let guys get bigger than the team. Which CJ is well on the path to doing. You are assuming WAAAAAY to much.Yeah Marvin let Dillon walk because he was a locker room cancer. But yet Marvin let Chad play in the 2nd half and he also let Chadhold a Press Conference at Paul Brown Stadium. If Chad would have set out the 2nd half and had the Press Conference at McDonald`s or at his house...then I`d say that Chad was on that path... Lip_Burger
What Chad does brings the cameras and reporters to his locker. It puts Chad on the highlight reels. But last time I checkedChad is a Bengal. He has helped Marvin put the Bengals back on the map. And erasethe "Bungle" image. He sleeps at PBS because he stays there so late studying game film.He works as hard as anyone... because he wants to be the best that ever played. And he wants to be a Bengal. His success equals Bengals success. Not so long ago... Jime Rome asked Chad " if he would like totake his show to a bigger market ?" Chad said "Nah... I love it here...I`m going to bring the market HERE."That doesn`t sound like a "self involved" player to me...Actions speak louder than words. And Chad's idiotic actions speak volumes. Anyone who doesn't see the guy's only in it for himself is either completely ignorant or just afraid of the truth. If you were being interviewed about your high-paying job and knew your employer would see it, would you say "Yes, I'd rather be working for a larger company with more recognition"? Of course not! You mean sleeping at Paul Brown Stadium ?You mean doing everything he can to get exposure while wearing his Bengals jersey. You mean taking his FREE TIME to hype upthe Bengals and the city of Cincinnati ? I don`t understand the hate directed towards Chad at all.I bet you loved Corey Dillon til the end and maybe even stilldo though right ? Of course not! You're right, actions speak louder than words, and Chad's DEDICATED actions speak volumes. Anyone who doesn't see that the guy is willing to work his day off, sleep at the stadium, go out and hold court with the fans to get them pumped up before they enter the stadium, and do all the other things Chad does to promote the TEAM and improve the TEAMS chances of winning is either completely ignorant or just afraid of the truth. Anyone who doesn't see that in another city, on another team, Chad wouldn't have the same opportunity to be a part of something TREMENDOUSLY HUGE like he is in Cincinnati is either completely blind, or idiotic. You see, there's a little self promotion and a little team/city promotion involved. There's maturity and immaturity. GO FREAKING FIGURE, THE MAN IS HUMAN! walshfan
It was the playoffs for gods sake.. what was marvin supposed to do ? sit chad and draw national attention to the team because whiner wasnt in the game.. that would have left him Tab Perry, Kevin Walter and TJ for the second hald.. Id say Chad had him by the balls on that one.some of you need to sit back and look at this kid for what he really is..
Lip_Burger
2. Marvin implies it didn't happen. Chad played the second half even though it became clear we couldn't win.I'll believe this evidence over a freaking rumor site that says Chad is TO. We know better. As for the celebrations being me me me, BULL. They are to bring attention to his team. The who can cover 85? Self motivating tool. It was for him, and when Marvin took it down, you never heard anything about it again. Yes, he has some drops. Gee, he gets thrown to more than any receiver in the league.Come on man, it became clear we couldn't win? We were leading at halftime. The D was playing pretty well in the first half and so was Kitna. It became clear in the 4th quarter, and I don't remember him playing too hard then.I'm sorry, but you are in denial about Chad. I could name 20 more things he's done that are out-and-out SELFISH and you would make an excuse for each and every one of them. As much as he is a great athlete and smart player his selfishness is evident to everyone exept Bengals homers. I don't think we should get rid of him but I do think he needs to put the team first more often AND STOP WITH THE ME ME ME ATTITUDE. Like Marvin said, we came as a team and we should leave as a team. Even if this incident didn't happen he's been doing this for years and it's bit him and us on the ass more times than I can remember. That's Marvin's style, no nonsense.I'll sit back and see him for what he is, a great receiver who has FUN, who wants to make the game FUN, who wants to be the best he can be, who wants to win. BengalsOwn
"Absolutely, because Marvin Lewis has his own problems," Esiason said during an appearance on the WDVE-FM Morning Show. "They had a huge fight in that locker room at halftime. It's the truth, flat out. (Wide receiver) Chad Johnson got into it with their wide receivers coach, Hue Jackson. (Wide receiver) T. J. Houshmandzadeh and Marvin came over to break it up and Chad was uncontrollable.http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-re...e/s_412642.html
walzav29
I don't think he took a swing at Marvin. I think that Hue and CJ got into it and Marv almost got hit or bumped or whatever. If this is such a BS story how come it wasn't someone else going after a coach? Why does it fit for such an "emotional" player. It's because it's something we all know Chad is capable of because he is so emotional and he does get upset when he is not getting the ball. schweinhart
Good thing Temple named its new head coach last month. But if there's any real problem between Chad and Hue Jackson, I would expect Hue to look a little harder and take less of a position to get out. Chad is Chad and it would definitely take a position coach who can put up with piles of prima donna bullsh#t to deal with him regardless of his unquestioned work ethic and dedication to improve his game. I'd be rather see Chad just keep his effing grill shut and play the GD game regardless of any rumored altercation anyway. At the same time, Kitna was not getting the ball to Chad enough vs. Steelers. There were none of the quick throws at the line to try to get YAC or quick slants thrown his way. Not all of that can likely be pinned on the Steelers coverage either. Chad is unquestionably the biggest offensive weapon on this team and you find ways to get him the ball, especially in the situation the Bengals faced on Sunday. walzav29
Why don't you dummies ask the Niners, Vikings, and Eagles how it's impossible for a disgruntled talneted receiver to cause problems. Can't see one instance of the "huge" distraction losing a game for the Bengals can you ?? One and done is nowhere placed near the vacinity of Chad... Please see- Kitna's dumbass, sh*tty 2nd half defense, and Drunkowski's inability to call running plays for one and done blame. Amazing how some just need something to b*tch and moan about. How about just being happy with a WR who consistently leads the Conference in yards and is a gimme for the probowl... Better yet, lets go back to the days when we had no voice of the team, let alone talent, and finished 2-14. Can there be distractions ?? Sure there can. I'm not disputing that fact. However, lets focus our displeasure where it needs focusing. I vote we start with the D-line and go from there...WHODEY !!!
buck3y3d
Stop blaming Kitna, Please. We abandoned the run and he was asked to throw into 8 man coverage (wonder why it took him so long to get rid of the ball). He was a backup in his second game of the year and played quite well for his position. There are lots of reasons we lost, but you can blame Chad as much as Kitna. (I am not blaming Chad because I do agree that this thread is probably a little longer than it needs to be, but I'm tired of hearing that we lost because of Kitna).
