buck3y3d
After reading articles and message boards from other sites (and I would like to simply thank Tom Jackson of ESPN for defending the Bengals so arduously throughout today), it now appears the Steelers are the most hated team in the NFL. Most people think the cheap shot was intentional (even I, a Bengals fan, am still undecided on this) and that the Steelers play dirty. After further review, opinions towards most Steelers fans and players have not changed.Mr. Bettis of the Pittsburgh Steelers was kind enough to say that winning one game does not signify a passing of the torch.I personally think winning the division for the next 10 years will. It's amazing that our run defense showed up today. Unfortunately, Ohalete still plays safety.
jeffreedrocks
This really sucks for Steelers fans. The hit was unintentional. Kimo was very upset about hitting Carson. The Steelers arent the Raiders of the Ravens. We dont intentially try to take out key players in the game. The Steelers do have some class. Ask any player on that team, the would have rather faced a Palmer led Bengals as opposed to a Kitna led Bengals. Steelers like competition and fighting dirty is not their style. Anyone going to back me on this, or am Im going to stand alone?

Why would "America" decide that the Bengals are victims and begin hating the Steelers? You said yourself you don't even know if it was a cheapshot or not. Please explain to me why the Steelers are so hated now... I mean, if they hated the team before that's one thing. This really sucks for Steelers fans. The hit was unintentional. Anyone going to back me on this, or am Im going to stand alone? You'll never convince many of the fans here or on other boards. Especially so soon after the game. They want to believe it was intentional and it was the only reason they lost, plain and simple. Don't bother, there are a few fans here who would probably agree, but most just want to blame the loss. If Palmer had gotten back into the game, this wouldn't even be an issue, but the hit would have been the same.
duus
In the end, America will come to see the truth I have lived. This team and its fans have taken the image of the headcoach. No matter what ... above all else ... make sure you are the bully. Make sure you punch, kick, scream, yell, or even twist knees to show them you are the bully and you punch harder. (insert beating of chest here) They won this one. I do not want our team to play the way they play. I NEVER want our coach to act and look the way their coach does. We will eventually get this done our way, and watch the Steeler once classy organization slip into the Cowher mold. Fine by me.They beat us. We're resting. They're only a week behind us. The thing that I find amazing though, I like posting here better than Stillers.com. lando griffin
I don't think Kemo's hit was intentional, but what really pissed me off was Hines and Antwaan making fun of how their trick play worked on the sidelines and egging on the fans near the sideline. Yea, you can do that if it was a regular game, but seriously, with Palmer out, we had no chance and they knew that. If he was in it would have been a different story. Still hate Hines. I just thought the whole polishing his cleats with a terrible towell thing was a pretty low maneuver. I understand the rivalry, but the towell is what we as steeler fans have. We dont have an actual mascot to cheer at, we dont have cheerleaders to cheer at, so the towell is what we have. The Terrible Towell is like the American Flag to us. They were probably more surpirsed than anyone that the play actually worked, and were laughing and celebrating. I've seen TJ taunt the crowd more times than I can remember. Even before the shoe shine incident, I've always seen this guy as classless.

The Raiders, as an organization, are dirty. In my opinion the Ravens, Broncos and Patriots can be dirty, although it's mostly individual players who are to blame on those teams over the years.By the way duus, this is football. This is what football is: contact, hard hitting, launching yourself at players. The Steelers play tough, not dirty. They like to punch teams in the mouth, so to speak. It's their way of playing football, it's hard hitting defense and power running. If you want your team to be more "finesse" that's fine. There are different approaches to playing football but this is the Steelers way. And the "once classt Steelers organization" slipped into the Cowher mold 14 years ago. I don't always like it, but it's the truth. omg.....this topic is more ghey then Brokeback Mountain......90% of America gives a Sh%t about the Steelers or the Bengals.......It sux what happened to Palmer and the Bengals.............but it is what it is.......get over it!Every team has some "element" of thugery amongst them....but most of these atheletes are good guys that have mutual respect for the safety and careers of one another. Then I'm certain there are some bitter pee brain head cases that get their due because it's not tolerated in the NFL. I think the real thugs are sitting at home in front of their TV's wishing death and destruction to the opposing team players (and some of the officials). I was totally upset watching this game today......almost ruined part of my day.....but there's more to my life then the Pro football team that I grew up with. Thank God the Buckeyes won this year! And really......we all know what the Steelers have coming to them next week. Hope they enjoyed their little High School game they had today! (end of rant) See you next year! NYBengalfan
Hell, Palmer was the best of the key players on the field. And he hardly played. Its ashame, its upsetting but its over.Oh yeah you want a scenario of how dirty the Steelers are...... 2001 AFC Championship Game, you guys injured Brady early on with a unblocked dive below the knees by one of your safeties when they were up 7-3. Then Bledsoe came in and beat the crap out of ya!!

skyline
No ill will towards the Steelers whatsoever for this game. Palmer's injury was unfortunate, but I don't hate them for it. Could have happened against anyone. And please don't whine about Hines and company celebrating on the sidelines. They were about to win a playoff game...it's near impossible to control that kind of emption. They had every right to be happy.

That was an insult to the City of Cincinnati and every player, coach, and fan out there.Thank you! Maybe TJ's terrible towel thing was disrespectful, but it came after the Ickey Shuffle. I don't think that the Palmer hit was intentional. In fact, Kemo's reaction after he realized how hurt Carson really was made me realize that it wasn't intentional. On the other hand, the late hits on TJ in the endzone followed by two steelers (yes it did take two, not just the guy who made the late hit) standing over top of him like they actually made a good play IS DIRTY.
