* Will Benji build on his playoff lapses?

* Will Carson prove to be a Brady type or Benji type playoff QB?

* Will Chad step up his play for the playoffs?

* Can Coach Lewis give us the long awaited playoff victory, springboarding us into an ever so bright future?

* Can the D play beyond themselves for at least one game?

* Will Pollack and Thurman dominate on the big stage like they did in college?

* Will Rudi step up his play as well?

* Will the offensive game planning be extraordinary?

* Will the Bengal Nation show up in great number and louder than ever?

* Will this be the official 'changing of the guard' in the AFC North? A win by the Bengals will absolutely, positively officially do that ... no ifs, ands, or buts.

What <BIG> questions do you hope/expect will be answered during those critical 3 hours on Sunday?

Will fans accept this for what it is, the end of a playoff drought and the beginning of a legacy of playoff appearances? This is not our one shot for the next decade to get to the Super Bowl. It is our first of many.

This is not the answer to what kind of QB Carson will be. but rather simply his first taste of the second season.

Agreed. Win or lose, I think after it all settles for a month or so, I will be pleased that we are back where I had hoped we would be. That said, I do think there are some 'glimpses into the future' that will come out of this game.

I realize that I would have been happy at the beginning of the year to be in this position. I also realize that this should be the first of many trips to the playoffs. That being said, this game could really help us for those playoff games in future years.

I'm a firm believer in "steps" when it comes to building a championship team. I know that this doesn't always hold up (1st Patriots Super Bowl win, etc.), but more often than not, it does. The first step is getting in the playoffs, the second is winning a playoff game, and then a trip to the Super Bowl comes last. It sure would be nice to get the first two in this year; I think it would really help potential Super Bowl chances in future years.

I'm sure I'll get killed for saying this type of thing, but that's how I see this game. A chance to past step two. Then the future is even brighter and anything above that this year would be icing on the cake.

One more thing that this game provides is the chance to have the upper hand in the AFC North...for the players AND THE FANS.

I'm not a big believer in "steps" in today's NFL. Your Pats example was very strong, but I also look to the Rats, Rams, Titans, Panthers, etc. and see that a SB team can be built in a year. Free agency leads to parity which leads to an almost clean slate at the beginning of most years. I also look at the Squeelers and Indy as teams that have gotten hung up on the "steps" and not made it all the way. IMO the team that gets hot at the right time and plays through the pressure (or plays loose because they don't know any better) can definitely get there. Does this mean the Bengals -- depends on how loose they can play. Even with our suspect defense and the big holes there, we can match up with every team if we play well (with the possible exception of Indy which should win if they play even close to how they played during the regular season).

I agree too. just need to maximize the opp when you got it. Because the playoffs are darn hard to make. Ask SD and KC and DAL.

I agree... there's a VERY fine line between 6-10 and 12-4. A lucky call here, a missed FG there... one fumble, a single INT can be the difference.
