cincy90 Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 How much is Marvin worth to this organization? I was thinking about what kind of contract extension he should get, but I can't figure it out. He is definately worth more than any one player on the roster. The atmosphere of winning that he has created has boosted attendance, made everything fly off of the Pro Shop's shelves, etc. In terms of what he has done for the team and organization, I think his performance thus far is unprecedented. There is no reason why he should not be the highest paid coach in the league. Quote
Jet23 Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 I really think Mike Brown will take care of Marvin. Not only has he rebuilt the entire team the right way, he takes every opportunity to give credit to Brown. After this year, you can bet that some of the big market teams are going to try to sink their teeth into him. Quote
WhoDey42 Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Marvin is worth anything it takes to keep him here. He is the perfect coach in my mind. From what I can see, he loves where he is, he won't accept mediocrity, he tells it like it is, he's not afraid to make long term decisions that may not be popular in the short term (Carson sitting out a year), the players love him, the fans love him, the media loves him... oh yeah, and the Bengals are winning. We have to keep him here. Quote

HairOnFire Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Not only do I think Mikey will pay whatever it takes to keep Marvin in Cincy, but I think many are underestimating the loyalty Marvin will show in return for finally being given a chance at a head coaching position. Last, when you look at the way Marvin has built his team one thing stands out. That being, he has always shown disdain for the short term fix. Every important move points to a long term plan that will pay huge dividends, and as a result I believe strongly that he's here for the long haul. Quote
Kirkendall Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Marvin got one-year included on his contract after last season; he's signed through the 2008 season. Quote
AMC Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 I trust Marvin's loyalty. Mike Brown has stepped up to the plate after each of Marvin's season and given him a raise and another year. I suspect he will do more than just one year after we hit the playoffs. Quote

After a bit of searching http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/foot...ewis.extension/Coach is doing fine at an estimated $2,000,000 per year Quote
