walzav29
Jumping way ahead, but here's my plan. Rush Pollack, Smith, and Geathers and have the rest of the guys drop into coverage. The way I figure it, when you try and stop Edge, that's just 1 guy. When Manning is throwing you have Edge, Wayne, Stokely, Harrison, and Clark. 1 vs 5. Your welcome Marv. There will be no charge for the Walzav29 package.
GROIIIDayton
Okay coach. Maybe you should be our defensive coach also. Concentrate on cheering for the team, and leave the X's and O's for the man. That is a great idea though. Lets let Gathers play nose tackle and get swallowed up by the DT. Lets just waste a player out there. If anything Shawn Smith should be in the middle of the line.

bengalindian
Gosh, you're sooooo stupid walzav29. I think the Bengals will be able to stop the Colts next year, when they have a DT that can stop the run and pass rush effectively. I think they should try out Shaun in the middle if they play the Colts again, and hopefully they just get more pressure than usual. In a Colts-Bengals rematch, I think we'll see another shootout, but if the Bengals are to win, a couple picks by Peyton and some big special teams play on the part of the Bengals will be needed. smith288
This isnt a defensive design...this is theory.Draw it up with specific assignments and in a way that will confuse Peyton then you have designed something.

There will be no charge for the Walzav29 package. The Rams tried just that, rushing 3 and dropping 8 into coverage. Edgarrin rushed 34 times for 143 yrds and 3 TDs. Peyton was 22 for 32 for 191 yrds, 2 TDs and no INTs. Colts won 45-28. Sorry, but Marvin and Chuck know better. Thank you for playing. Whur CHad At?
We shouldn't worry about the Colts. We arent there yet. We should be worrying about the Browns right now. One game at a time people.
Spain
You want to beat Manning you blitz him. We had better hurry this guy. It would be nice if the front four could do it but it doesnt look like they can. So you better bring an extra blitzer every time. He will burn you 3 out of four times I know. however we only need the d to stop him 4 series and we can out score them. In short pounf the boy. Lets see if he can take a pounding! He will go to edge if you start pounding him. We have a much better chance of stopping edge than we do manning.
walzav29
Did you watch the NFL game of the week Bengals vs Colts? It's a great inside look. I was amazed at the coaching Marv did. When he had Justin Smith line up close he started stopping the run. They have to come up with something exotic to throw him off. Of course the good old pressure with the fron 4 is great, we don't got the guys. I was thinking speed.
