Whur CHad At? Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 The reason the Bengal's lost this game today were their poor time management, playcalling, and defense. We could of won this game but these areas let us down big time.I'll start off with defense. Our defense couldn't stop a 3rd, or 4th down conversion if our lives depended on it. Purely pitiful. It would be 3 and 1 and Edge would run for about 5 or 6 yards. This is just horrendus. Our D-Line is getting pushed around like little sissy boys out there and it is embarassing. I love how they were on the goaline and we had 4 guys on the line and linebackers lined up deep in the endzone. Edge simply walked into the endzone like it was no big deal. Pitiful and changes need to be made. Breshnahan needs to go, along with John Thorton and Brian Robinson. We don't blitz, hardly ever, and when we did we rattled Peyton into making rushed descions. 5 posestions in the first half 5 TDs for the Colts.Playcalling was poor too, but not as bad as our defense. Why did WE CALL A SWEEP PLAY ON 4th AND 1. That was a horrible call, that could of been a score. I remeber some insances when it was 3rd and 15 and we throw little dinkers for hardly any gain. Play calling wasn't terrible but wasn't good.Time management sucked for the last 3 minutes of that game for the Bengals. We could of got a couple of plays off before the two minute warning but no our offense simply walked to the ball instead of hustling to it. Um, hello we are trying to win and we are down 8, why the f**k are you walking!!!!!!Come on Carson get the boys fired up and get them to line and get a play off. No more of this lolly gaggin around crap. We need to win football games. No excuse for poor time management.Guys, we can make the playoffs, but we won't make any damage. We simply can't win against good teams. The only way we can change that is if we beat Pitt at Pitt, and i do not see that happening. With the Wild Card getting harder and harder to get, i don't see us grabbing it if we loose to Pitt. Jacksonville's schedule is too damn easy and they should win it. Quote
BengalPappaw Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I did NOT like the playcalling on defense. We did not try to light up Peyton with more than a 4 man pass rush. Quote
USMC203 Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 We are not going to win big until the DT get bigger. If we would have had a pass rush, this game would have been a lot different, the Bengals would be 10 & 0. The coaching staff knows what the problem is, you would think they would have it fixed by now. But all they say is we are getting better on D. BULL S##% if they were better there would have been more pressure on the QB. And I agree about the play calling not being to sharp. Quote
turningpoint Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 um 1st of all there's 2 wildcard spots....we're a game ahead in that category.the chiefs and chargwers play eachother one more time, not to mention they got the broncos there that will beat them up one more time each.If we beat the chiefs in arrowhead we will make the playoffs, if we lose who knows we'll find out week 17.IMO we control our destiny, and that will be us going on the road and taking out the chiefs at arrowhead.Anyways though, i bet the steeelers game isn;t even close, i bet we win by 14+ points.they'll be coming off a monday night lose that they gave their all in order to try and stay even with us.It seriously wouldn't suprise me rothlisberger get's sacked about 5x by freeney and co.anyways teams that are on the decline are entering the scheduale and that spells nothing but good news.the bills and lions should be easy victories..wil be quite cool to see palmer and mike williams talk to eachother.anyways once we beat the ravens, lions and bills we'll be 10-3, the browns should be a no contest also, that;s 11-5.we beat the steelers the division is ours, cause will be 12-4 and tied with them, but they'll have 2 divison loses. AMC Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I like the optimism, but I have learned never to assume wins in any game....I see what your saying, but BALT, @ DET, BUFF, CLE, etc these will be harder games than originally thought probably...I agree the season's turning point will be @ PITT and the Bengals will need to play better as a team than at any time this year... dave Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Guys, we can make the playoffs, but we won't make any damage.I agree. Though, that doesn't really bother me as my hopes were to at least make the playoffs this year (anything else is gravy) and make a real run next year. Seems like they're on pace for that. Quote
Spain Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Marvins time management was horrible. Perry catching that ball in bounds suck. Its like they never practised this! Quote
combatbengal Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 I agree with all three (Def, play calling and time management). For the draft this year, I would go for DB's! That were schooled all day long! Also the refs sucked. There was one play the Payton didn't get off in time and they missed it! Quote
derekshank Posted November 21, 2005 Report Posted November 21, 2005 Playcalling was poor too, but not as bad as our defense. Why did WE CALL A SWEEP PLAY ON 4th AND 1. That was a horrible call, that could of been a score. I remeber some insances when it was 3rd and 15 and we throw little dinkers for hardly any gain. Play calling wasn't terrible but wasn't good.I was thinking the same thing about the sweep... and playcalling in a 4th and 1 situation is very important. I thought the whole sequence was screwed up. It's 3rd, and a long 1. If you are going to go for it anyway... why not run for it on third... and if you don't get it, then you can try a pass. But other than that... I thought the game was called very well. It's really easy to look back and see plays that didn't work, and insult the play-calling... but we did put up 37 points. I'd hardly say that playcalling was the reason we lost. You have a point with the time management at the end, and our secondary (namely Ohalete) had a piss poor game. Quote
