denverbengal Posted November 16, 2005 Report Share Posted November 16, 2005 Seattle PIFoxboro, MA (Sports Network) - The New England Patriots have signed free agent cornerback Artrell Hawkins.The 28-year-old Hawkins is in his eighth season and has played in 103 games with 76 starts. He has career numbers of 404 tackles, three sacks, and 10 interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Originally drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 1998 draft, he spent his first six seasons there before being signed by the Carolina Panthers as a free agent before the 2004 season. He was signed by the Washington Redskins before the 2005 season, but was released prior to the start of regular season play. In addition to Hawkins, the Patriots signed offensive lineman Gene Mruczkowski. He was originally signed by the Patriots in 2003 and played in 10 games for the Super Bowl champs during the 2004 season as backup center and on special teams. He was released by the Patriots this season on September 3, but was re-signed on September 28. He was then released for the second time on October 8. It's up there with "Perfect Strangers" and "Taxi" in my book.After reading an article about Chad, I had to change it. I think WKRP was the funniest show ever made.
