buck3y3d Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 ny he is the new county commissioner that is trying to take away the stadium deal the bengals negotiated with the county. The county is suing for $600mm. This guy is a joke and i think that the Bengal Nation needs to go down to city hall and make it known that the county needs to drop the suit and also pay the bengals for any legal fees that they had paid or give marvin his practice dome. I think Bengal fans need to do something.Yeah, because the taxpayers should get stuck with an even larger bill. Please, brown wouldn't even let high school marching bands on the field. Maybe you haven't looked at your playoff ticket email as Brown's sticking another one in you. (you better purchase those tickets, or you can say goodbye to your seats) It's easy for you who live outside of the city to say stuff like this, but for those of us who already have enough wasted tax money, this is ridiculous.Brown's an a-hole who doesn't give 1 iota about this city. Linder may not have been a good owner, but he's been great for the city.So have Brown build this practice dome. After all, he let the 6 million in cap money slowly drift into the sunset when he should have given it to Chad to avoid the holdout. Sometimes I wonder if you guys even remember the pre-Marvin era. Posts like these piss me off Quote
jungleman Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 buck are you a bengals fan?The county made a deal with the bengals a contract means you have to live up to your word there is no reason for this lawsuit. Quote
buck3y3d Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 buck are you a bengals fan?The county made a deal with the bengals a contract means you have to live up to your word there is no reason for this lawsuit. And that deal says nothing about building a practice facility. Just because i don't like seeing money wasted doesn't mean I'm not a bengals fan. You want the taxpayers to build the Bengals another facility when old Brown is sitting in his home raking in the profits. He just let 6 million walk away when we could have easily avoided turmoil this summer with Chad.Brown has screwed this city enough. Go look at the playoff ticket email. By having the county build a practice facility, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. And this lawsuit isn't about the contract entirely, it's about Brown using misleading evidence to say that he was losing money (when he was making 10-11 million) and needing a new stadium. Brown's the definition of an a-hole.This city gets on its knees for big companys and teams, and Portune is trying to stop it. He's done a pretty good job IMO, and his case isn't that weak agains the Bengals if he can prove they lied. You out-of-towners are simply looking at it through your orange glasses, and don't realize how often the taxpayers in this city take it from the back. I love the Benglas and hate SoP. Quote
AMC Posted November 17, 2005 Author Report Posted November 17, 2005 Wasting money has been happening in every big city since the inception of cities, and it will long after we are gone...Instead of griping about a practice facility and a VALID contract, how about griping about politician freebies, and the council's lack of a plan for downtown, and all the nice condos going to Covington...AT LEAST the Bengals bring something to the city.....Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis have done more for this city than Charlie Luken ever freaking did... He hasn't donated one thing to this city. Linder donates 80 million, Brown donates 10000You obviously haven't been through the hospital district lately. They took down all the poor people's homes and built condos BUT NO ONE WANTS TO BUY THEM. The poor people have to live somewhere, we can't kick them to the corner.Mike Brown doing something for Cincinnati, LMAO. What is that, taking in 10 million a season. Thank you for getting richer mikey. Marvin Lewis deserves the credit for turning this franchise around. All Brown did was hire him, which is the best thing he's ever done for this city. Quote
