Kirkendall
From the East Valley Tribune:In a surprising twist Tuesday, Cardinals coach Dennis Green said the odds were "slim" that Arizona will take a QB in the first three rounds of April's NFL draft. That means no Eli Manning or Ben Roethlisberger. It also means Josh Mccown , named the starter last week by Green, will have a real chance to be the long-term QB answer for the Cardinals. Kirkendall
Possibly, it didn't make sense when I read it and it doesn't make sense now.
kevnz
It could be noise to try to get someone to trade with them, and devalue the trade options of the Chargers and Raiders ahead of them...One of the teams with an eye on a QB would like to trade up to get them, and the asking price wouldn't be as high as the 1st pick both in terms of what it would take to get it, and what it takes to sign them...and let's face it, the Cards need a lot more help than just QB...And of course if Green thinks McCown is his QB, why not? Kirkendall
There's a team source stating Marty will either go after Brunell or give Brees another chance, possibly deciding to pick someone other than Manning.
