markymark69
For all of the Bengals fan in the Columbus (Channel 10) market, our complaints must be working. They are showing the Bengals/ Titans this Sunday.Schedule For Games On CBS FOR SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16: 1:00 p.m. Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tennessee Titans4:15 p.m. New England Patriots vs. Denver BroncosThe Browns vs. Ravens and Steelers vs. Jaguars will not be seen this week. All of these games fell in the 1:00pm time period and the NFL declined WBNS' requests earlier this year to try and eliminate these conflicts. This matter is out of our hands.WBNS has maintained that the primary reasoning for game recommendations has been, and will remain, the number of viewers a given team will garner. The Bengals have increased their viewership and continue to have the best record in the division. We will air them on 10/16 and then continue to evaluate conflicts on a week-by-week basis. We also know that there are many Steeler fans in central Ohio as well but we maintain that our priority has to be the two Ohio teams. We appreciate your understanding. MANY FANS HAVE ASKED ABOUT AIRING PREEMPTED GAMES ON ALTERNATIVE VENUES (ONN, WBNS-DT, WWHO, OTHER CHANNELS.) THE NFL WILL NOT ALLOW US TO DO THIS AND IT IS NOT AN OPTION FOR US.We also have many fans that look at game changes as statements of policy for the remainder of the season or favor for one team over the other. We will continue to make game recommendations on a week-by-week basis. These recommendations will be made solely on the team capable of garnering the most viewers. For more information on the Nielsen ratings system, go to www.nielsenmedia.com and click on the FAQ section. Lastly, the other accusation is that we are biased towards one team or the other. This simply isn’t true. Our only bias is towards the team we think the majority of our viewers wish to see.We would like nothing else then to please every fan and show every game. Unfortunately we are unable to do so. Thank you for watching and we appreciate your understanding.Comments and questions: viewerservices@10tv.com (rude or profane comments will not be answered.) Columbusbengal
I'm certainly excited about this! I must admit that I am surprised that the Browns v. Ravens wouldn't be a high viewership game since it is an even more bitter rivalry than the Browns v. Bengals. But I'm not going to worry about it. I just hope everyone watches so that they will keep showing the Bengals every week!
