The Big Orange
Agreed...this piece was nicely done...almost on the level of a Josh Kirkland piece...our resident senior writer
ArmyBengal
It was a good piece indeed. How people are questioning ML is beyond me... Warrick ?? Say what you want, but I'm not unhappy with the move. Krenzel over Bramlett ?? Again, no issues on my part. Not going after DT Hunt ?? Remains to be seen as DT is not as great as everyone might think (I still see it as a weekness), but will concede to ML's knowledge of the situation. This is a MUST READ article on game day !!!WHODEY !!!

Neither had any real playing time, Marvin knows best.As for Hunt, we do NOT want him. Big problem, lazy, out of shape, skips camp, bad attitude, and a druggie. schweinhart
For the first time in a long time, it looks like the Bengals got most of the pieces in place to dictate what they want to do in games. Hobson no doubt has copped that buzz. But a tell-tale mark of this team will be how quick the coordinators are to adjust during the game when what they're doing doesn't work. Plus, they've got to capitalize on personnel to produce big plays on offense and use their strengths on defense to keep big plays from happening against them. The players look poised for a fast start, but the coordinators got to come up w/ a fast start of their own at game speed. Columbusbengal
For the first time in a long time, it looks like the Bengals got most of the pieces in place to dictate what they want to do in games. I have no doubts that the coordinators are prepared for the game and experienced enough to make adjustments. My biggest fear is that the team has that same doubt in the bottom of their stomachs that I have. I don't know if I can even watch the game because of my fear that the Bengals will find a way to screw up the first game of the season. I sure wish the game was at home. Failing that, I sure hope we lose the coin toss because defense can do a lot better than offense when the team is overly psyched and has too much adrenaline. Of course, I'm extra pessimisic today because my Wolverines already choked this weekend. At least the Buckeyes lost, too, so I won't have to listen to Buckeye fans all week. I'm just hoping Cleveland fans will have to be quiet, too (except about the Indians).
redsfan2
This came up on a different thread ...... another 8 and 8 season is just not going to cut it for Cincinnati ..... fans ... sportswriters ... or coaches. A lot of talk already about the " pivotal " 3rd season under coach Lewis. Comparisons have been drawn to coaches who were successful and those who were not. The ones who have had good careers as head coaches have taken their teams to the play offs in the 3rd year .. those who didn't haven't fared as well.imho ........ I think these questions .... while legitimate are maybe a bit premature. Lewis has had to literally rebuild this organization from the weight room out. I do think 9 and 7 is the absolute minimum for the coach to retain his status as an excellent coach that is rebuilding. A winning record and the playoffs makes all the questions go away and reaffirms coach Lewis' status as an upper echelon coach. 8 and 8 or 7 and 9 ............ and you just watch every old " Bungleism " magically reappear.
