bengalskyspy
I am sitting a my hotel room watching the Pats/raiders, behind enemy lines in Baltimore. I have been struck with the Ravens-mania that exists here. Banners throughout the city, a skyscraper with Ravens logo projected on the side, several signs saying ":Believe" which I assume is their rallying cry. I don't sense that the city of Cincinnati is as jacked-up about the Bengals. No civic pride. BTW, this is a very nice city. Much bigger than Cincy.Help me. duus
I'm with you BengalSkySpy. I sit here in Pittsburgh, also behind enemy lines. I have been here for 14 years, arriving when Cowher took over. The arrogance in this city is at times overwhelming. I find great satisfaction in Cowher's post-season failures. I simply cannot wait for our wide-outs this year to show these WEAK corners of the Steelers how to play. Come on Chad! Come on TJ! I'm hoping for Moss-like scores on these hated Steelers. BTW ... any other Bengal fans out there that might be stuck in the Burgh like me and my family? Oh, if so, I'm sure you feel our pain! Go Bengals!-- duus --

Tickets are selling like hotcakes, fans are crazed, everybody seems excited. I don't get a chance to get back to Cincinnati that much either (I'm closer to you in the DC area), but I think the Bengals community is rocking.Projecting the Ravens logo on a skyscraper? I kinda like Cincinnati's skyline like it is. I also wonder if that building has some association with M&T bank, who bought the naming rights to the stadium? Just guessing. And all those banners and signs are corporate junk. What matters is real fans - and anyone pulling for the Bengals over the last 15 years is a real fan. duus
Then count me in the 'real fan' group. Over the last dozen plus years, you'd find me as the guy walking the streets of Pittsburgh with the Bengals coat proudly displayed. But the abuse ... oh, the abuse. I don't care. Our day is coming! I sense it's getting closer.-- duus --

Chucktkd
"Believe" is the theme to Mayor O'Malley's belief that this city will come back. And the Rats are overrated. They will finish in third place this year. Billick is already asking fans not to boo Kyle Boller.

I've heard they're about ready to string Boller up.
The_Next_Big_Thing
Cincy team spirit is there, it's just that unlike the fans in Baltimore, we've had football for many many years. They lost theirs and got it back. Meanwhile, we've been losing for decades, and it has taken it's toll. The REAL fans are still out there. Look at the number of jerseys and Bengals gear you see on the street. Any fan wearing it is happy to stop and chat about the team. We are just laid back here in Cincinnati. bengalskyspy
Thanks for the updates about some of the signage. I am back now at home in Cincy, and all is well. I wish our city officials didn't have their head up their asses about the Bengals and just about every other issue. The inner harbor in Baltimore is just impressive... compare this to the Banks? Maybe the Bengals winning a bit will be a catalyst to some development downtown. BTW, the Ravens Stadium is damn ugly.
