jbx182
does anyone under 35 even care about mlb/reds anymore? anyone that calls into reds talk shows, seem to be over 40. and all they talk about is the reds getting back to the days of the big red machine. i think most people my age (29) don't give a whoot about baseball; i certainly don't remember the "glory days". i remember baseball for free agency, poor ownership, strikes and lock-outs, and the leadership of mlb selling out anyone/thing they possibly could to generate a buck. (late game times, steroid cover-up, stupid all-star games/home-run contests, et al) since mlb/reds have given us (fans) no reason to hope, my question is: why do you care? CBin2k7
I am 23 years old and I am very passionate about the Reds, maybe not baseball as a whole but the Reds, yes. I spend good money to go see the Reds play when they come out to LA and SD. Even though they are not playoff contending, I still support them. Kirkendall
There's two era's in modern Reds history. There's the Big Red Machine era, which most older fans will always be apart of, and then there's after the Big Red Machine era, which everyone else falls into. So there's a different passion of fans between eras.Personally, I care because I still love baseball and still consider it the America's past time. I care because Cincinnati is my home-town and the Reds are my team.Paying $10 for a seat, drinkin' a few beers, watching the team win is still pretty cool.. bengalindian
Yeah, Kirk, paying 40 bucks to see the Reds is worth it. Haha, not for me. But I still love the Reds, though I wasn't alive for the Big Red Machine or anything, and I still watch the games and still go if in the mood. I just think I'm too young to care to call into a talk show, it just seems like its an older person thing to do.
