Section 310 Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 I have a contact in Chicago that got me a couple of tix for the Bengals game on the 25th. Has anyone ever been to a game at Soldier Field? I don't want to takemy wife or young son if the "fans" heap abuse on visiting fans....ala Pittsburgh, Philly and to a lesser extent Cleveland. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why some idiots (Bengals idiots included) think that they need to throw food at, or try to start a fight with someone who happens to like another team. For those interested, there are cheap flights to Chicago from Columbus and Dayton. We are going to fly up early Sunday AM, hit the bars, go to the game an fly back that night. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 (edited) Soldier field is a class stadium. You shouldn't have much of a problem. On the other hand, if you are that worried, I'll fly up and watch it with you Edited August 16, 2005 by The_Next_Big_Thing Quote
Dan2330 Posted August 16, 2005 Report Posted August 16, 2005 Being a Chicago area resident and hating the Bears it is one of my fav past times to go and 'route for the other team'. Only time I have ever seen problems is when the dreaded Packers and their faithful fill the upper decks and create a kind of home field of their own with Bears fans mixed in. The re-deisgned Solider is a dud- looks like a Spaceship from the outside and still does not have enough bathrooms (although much better than waiting in line at the Port A Potty with a 'Da Bears' fan in front of you chowing down on a Polish Sausage). I was shocked the first time I went to a Bears game and the fans were yelling at people to 'down in front' most of the game- I mean these bozo's don't even stand up and cheer when the other team has the ball and it's like 3rd and short. Having been to the old Riverfront many a times I remembered watching a lot of the game where we never sat down. Bengal fans should have no problems at the Soldier, enjoy the game, I know I will. You got to go and see the drummers under the bridge on the way to the stadium. Gets you pumped up. I went to the last Bengals vs. Bears game in Soldier field. It was during the Preseason. The Bengals lost to the Bears, but I do remember seeing Robert Been intercept a pass for the Bengals and return it for a td. My cousin is trying to score some tickets for this years regular season game against the Bears. I kind of want to see what they have done to the old place since the renovations. It is a very cool place to watch a football game. The Bengals will destroy them this season. Quote
