WhoDeyHomer
The running game looks like it will be in very good shape. Rudi ran with authority and Perry was an all-star. Perry had several higlight plays, he picked up yards in chunks and made people miss running and catching. We passed the ball well at times, but not down field a lot of the times, but I think we played it pretty close to the vest in the passing game especially in the redzone. Washington still can't seem to get separation, Walter was getting more space than him. Milons had a snag or two and was decisive, he also got absolutely sandwiched. Neither Bramelt or Krenzel looked too good, but I still think Bramlett had a lot better opportunities and showed zero pocket sense. His best play was to seriously underthrow a target and get a PI call. The defense looked pretty solid from what I can tell, but they still havent fixed some of the problems. The zone blocking plays on the ends seem to do us in still, though in the middle me seemed alright. The line seemed to play well to me, the linebackers just seemed MIA sometimes. Thurman made some plays but also missed some. Geathers looks really good for us. The secondary is gonna be real good, there were really no balls downfield even when the QB had time, we have a blanket.Shobel is gone, he cant really block too well and doesnt have the reciever skills to merit the keep. Brandon williams made a couple of really bad plays including 20yd td whiff, Bauman looked good in space though. Guy looked good when highlighted as did Andrews. bengalskyspy
Perry was the star of the game. Rudi looked good too. Really looked impressive. Andrews was pretty solid, except for a few plays when he got beat. Palmer was not good, under-throwing wide-open CJ twice. Kitna looked better. Good news is that CJ was open whenever he wanted to be.Defensive line looked pretty good. Odell Thurman is going to be star, and so is RObert Geathers.Net, I am not impressed or depressed yet. BengalsDieHard1
I just caught some highlights via the NFL Network...all hail to them!!!..lol CP looked rusty.....better get some WD-40 in his ass!!! Our running game looked great. Odell was flying all over the place.....he is going to be good. I just bought tickets to the Bengals/Skins game a week from today. I've been trying to get a Skins fan to go with me, but they are all busy...Fri is not a great day to catch a game. Any Bengals fans in the DC area?!????I've got a free club seat?!?!? Anyway, I hope Pollack gets his head out of his wallet and signs real soon. Ide like to see him at FedEx stadium, even if he doesn't play. Overall, not a bad loss...we did just play NFL champs!!!!! GOOOOOO BENGALLLLLLSSS!!!!!
BlainThePain
I just watched the 1st quarter of the replay so far. Palmer looked off. Chad got open deep twice, but Palmer under threw him both times. The defense looks sharp so far. Run defense looks good and the pass rush looks fantastic, but the corners are doing poor IMO. Perry looks quick and I can't believe he can move that fast at 220 pounds. Rudi looks a hell of alot more agile than last year. Justin Smith and Odell Thurman look like beasts on the defense and Landon Johnson seems to be holding up alright on the outside. Thurman reminds me of Urlacher in his pursuit routes. Kelly Washington looked like crap dropping a pass that was thrown straight to him. It seemed like he was worried about getting hit and missed the ball with his hands and let it hit his body. I can't really tell about Robinson because I don't think they have ran at him yet.
cHaD711Johnson
-Thurman looks really good fast and aggressive-Perry is going to be a stud. He also says that he doesn't have his legs all the way yet which means our offense is really going to be scary once Palmer gets the rust off.-Keiwan Ratliff and Rob Geathers also both look good. Our defense is looking alot faster.
walshfan
Chris Perry has quick feet...sees the field well tooChris Henry is going to be dangerous in the red zone...big guyStacy Andrews is much quicker on his feet than Willie....no penalties eitherOdell had some solid hits....was out of place at times...rook errorsBrandon Williams is very inconsistant...as he was at Michigan...gets toasted to muchKevin Walter can get better sepearation than KDub at least tonight...Jerimi Johnson is one hell of a blocker... Irish Bengal
We looked like sh*t ! No effort, Lazy! Not even close to what I expected . Hope we pick it up next week. Let 3rd String QB pick us apart. Sad. I am a diehard. Very disappointed!
bengalsLB
how was the first and second team run D?

Let 3rd String QB pick us apart. Sad. I am a diehard. Very disappointed! Is it possible to give the World Champs a little credit. They're very disciplined and both their lines are solid. Its safe to say they'll win their division. I thought Langston Moore had some decent penetration. Thurman made some rookie mistakes but he's a crazy man out there. Thats why we need Pollack he's even crazier than Thurman. Im not even concerned with the offense this pre-season focused solely on the D. bengalskyspy
I agree that Henry looked a bit timid. He ducked to miss a big hit and failed to catch a 15--20 yd pass. But, he was getting open.
walzav29
I won't be able to know for sure until the replay at 3PM, but the parts I saw was Thurman laying some licks and making some plays. Henry sounded like he dropped alot, Perry and Rudi sounded great. Palmer looked bad. It's hard to think one way or the other considering how the Bengals slaughtered the Pats in the pre-season last year and it didn't mean bunk. Stacy looked good too. bengalskyspy
I stayed after the game to watch the mingling on the field. Corey Dillion came back with no pads to meet with friends. I was struck with several things. First was how warm and genuinely happy CD looked as he hugged at least 5 different players, and second, how incredibly big that guy is. Even out of pads, CD is a bull of a man. I wouldnt want to get hit by that dud running down-hill. I saw Willie, Deltha, TJ, Rudi, Chad, some coaches and many others go up to CD to "man-hug." With all the negativity surrounding CD, it was kind of nice to see the genuine warmth and smiles on both sides.

derekshank
I agree that Henry looked a bit timid. He ducked to miss a big hit and failed to catch a 15--20 yd pass. But, he was getting open. We're bound to be disappointed in Henry's production early this season with how much we've talked him up.In college he had a QB that had a lot of trouble getting him the ball, and often didn't unless he was wide open. You don't get that wide open very often in the NFL, so he has to learn to adjust to tight coverage, and making the play anyway. It'll come, we'll just have to be patient with him... luckily we're not relying on him for our teams success like we are with the rooks on defense. Columbusbengal
....things i saw was that chris henry looked timid, quincy wilson didnt look bad, and also casey bramlet looked way better then krenzal I don't think Henry looked "timid" - I think he looked unsure (maybe a bit overwhelmed by the NFL speed at first). On the other hand, Kdub has looked "timid" since he got there, probably because of the serious injury his senior year in college that caused him to fall from a first round pick. I agree Bramlet is better than Krenzel. Didn't notice Quincy Wilson one way or the other.
HairOnFire
Oh yeah. Kelly Washington sucks. So does Palmer. I suppose that means we're trading him to Philadelphia, right?
Bobcat Bengal
Oh yeah. Kelly Washington sucks. get a life, sir.people were spouting that same crap about TJ last year when he dropped a couple of passes in the first pre-season game. schweinhart
W/o seeing much more than a couple defensive series so far, it looks like teams won't use the center to double team Bryan Robinson in pass protection. The Pats double teamed Thornton until they apparently realized they didn't need to double him either and doubled Jumpy Jr. instead after he burned Light for a sack.I do have to say that Robinson looked much quicker than I thought. He stunts well and is coordinated. A much needed improvement over Tony Williams and Langston Moore. Robinson doesn't look to have much bullrush so he proly won't be doubled in pass protect at all but did look to hold his ground at the point of attck vs. run. CBin2k7
We looked like sh*t ! No effort, Lazy! Not even close to what I expected . Hope we pick it up next week. Let 3rd String QB pick us apart. Sad. I am a diehard. Very disappointed!Maybe it's because the 3rd string QB was going against a 3rd string D, for the most part the first preseason game is for the people who are on the bubble to shine. Most likely you won't even see alot of those guys around come 9/11. Why should you be disappointed, it is one game that doesn't even count. It could be worse, you could be like the Bears and have our starting QB out for 3-4 months. bengalboomer7
It could be worse, you could be like the Bears and have our starting QB out for 3-4 monthsNever say s**t like that. With the Bengals luck, it'll come back to bite us in the ass if your not careful.
Kirkendall
We looked like sh*t ! No effort, Lazy! Not even close to what I expected . Hope we pick it up next week. Let 3rd String QB pick us apart. Sad. I am a diehard. Very disappointed! I think there's some validity to that -- even though one pre-season game is far from being a proper diagnosis of the team's overall expectation. However, as Lewis said, I think the offense looked a little over-confident.
Sox
I was there, and boy was it hot.The running game looked good.Rudi,Perry and Q all seemed sharp, and Perry looked great catching the ball.Carson looked like he was aiming the two early deep passes instead of airing it out.Henry looked a bit tentative, and dropped a pass(if I remember correctly),but later made a nice TD catch.Odell looked great but looked like he was caught out of position once or twice. He made some big plays, but he jumped on his blitz and let the QB slip by.If he stays on his feet the Bengals get the ball. The mistakes he made however were because of inexperience, and that's what pre-season is for.Brandon Williams got burnt badly, and won't be around long if he repeats his performance next week. cHaD711Johnson
Quincy Wilson looked good being that he was playing with the 4th team offensive line.Chris Henry is still in an adjustment period to the speed of the NFL game.First team d looked good even though the Pats were minus Brady
