We're lucky at the wide receiver position now

I must have mentally blocked out the "bad old days" when Warrick and Dugans were rookie starters. I just read that on Bengals.com. We did not stand a chance with 2 rooks at the beginning of the season. Now we have receivers up to our ears. I try not to draft to many Bengal players in fantasy football, because I'm partial. But Chad Johnson is going to have a monster year.

An even dozen in Bengals camp

A closer look at the 12 wide receivers the Bengals have in camp:

Mark Curnutte

Player Comment

1. Chad Johnson Two-time Pro Bowler is one of league's best

2. T.J. Houshmandzadeh Steady, fearless receiver has chemistry with QB Carson Palmer

3. Peter Warrick Will make entire offense better if he's healthy

4. Kelley Washington Big possession receiver having good camp

5. Chris Henry Rookie third-round pick is tall target at 6 feet 4

6. Kevin Walter Excellent on special teams, improving as receiver

7. Cliff Russell Fast runner whose niche might be kickoff returns

8. Jamall Broussard Under-sized at 5-9, 175, but dangerous return man

9. Tab Perry Rookie sixth-round pick has chance to stick on special teams (could be on practice squad)

10. Freddie Milons Some skills as a receiver but needs to excel on special teams

11. Matt Cherry See Milons

12. Jeremiah Cockheran See Milons

I say Chad, TJ, P-dub, Henry, Kelley. Walter. No way we cut Kelley the way he has been playing. While I was at Georgetown, he looked focused. I hope Schobel starts catching the freekin ball.

I agree that Kelley is having a good camp thus far, but do you think the Bengals would keep him as a #5 or 6 receiver (assuming P-Dubz returns) when he does not play special teams????

Yes, and when I was at Georgetown they had him playing special teams. At this point, we can't count on P-dub, so he would be # 3 now behind CJ & TJ. I personally hope Chris Henry passes him on the dept chart. I also hope Tab makes the team.
