Kirkendall Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 I know, most believe the Reds season is lost. But we're only 10 games back from the wild card, and with a little help from everyone above us, plus better play against division opponents, Cincinnati could make a run at the post season.Am I drunk? Not right now. But the fact we're only 10 games back, from a potential post-season appearence f'ing rocks! (or I'm too much of an opptimist)OK, after all the run we've had sweeping the Padres, a five game road winning streak (won only 10 games ALL SEASON on the road before that), won 9 of the last 12, now we'll get to see if playing against bad teams was the reason for winning. However, we miss John Smoltz and Tim Hudson is on the DL (I think). This series will be a good test of how our team is progressing...OR is our little winning streak prevent trades that could have happened pushing the team back another year or so in developing the "system".GO REDS! Yes -- Pollack is chomping at the bit to get back on the field. He said he was driving his wife crazy with his pacing and eagerness to get back on the field. He sounded as if he is ready !!!! -- but he made the comment that he believes he is missing valuable playing (learning) time by not being in camp. He said it was really important to him since he is learning a new position. Quote
