Alex Smith

Who?

Recommended Posts

I'm really interested in how some of the players drafted in the first round of the 05 draft will do, and now I'm wondering all your takes on now San Fran QB Alex Smith. This guy is really smart, and I'm thinking he could start this year and be one of the positive things on that team. Personally I'm hoping he will start every game this year, but they could go the other route and let him sit a year, Browns fans have gone through this exact same situation. Also, I thought if this guy should fall to the 3 spot the Brownies should nab him as our franchise QB, now a lot of our hope falls on Frye. Post your thoughts!

Yeaah I know they have a few years to go, but I think if he can keep his composure this season he can have a decent year to build on.

this year will not be a great year for him. he still has a pretty crappy team around him, but he will still make some great plays on his own. really poised, great athlete too.

in the long run, i could see him being great. he's still only 21 i think, and bein groomed so early will only help him. by his third year, assuming his supporting cast has gotten better, he will be a great qb.

Smith as a rookie won't turn the team around, and may end up going the way of Klingler if pushed into duty behind a questionable line too early.

You could put Peyton Manning on that team and it would suck. The Niners problems will not be fixed with a rookie QB I'll tell you that much.....

Smith won't start the whole season.

SPREAD OFFENSE

Never trust a QB who came out of the spread offense.

Smith will do okay...maybe.

he's going to suck. that offense is abysmal.

I know, but that's not his fault, he's just coming into a bad situation.
