AMC
Hate to see Casey or Griffey go. But obviously something has to change. I would start with sending out some of the pitching staff and bring up more minor league guys. What the heck....
Kirkendall
I'd say the only person we should absolutely positively keep is Felipe Lopez. He's the only one I'd suggest is untouchable.I'd like to keep Griffey around too.
AMC
Funny how we wouldn't come close to saying that about Lopez last year! He has really improved.

bengalboomer7
Rumors, Rumors. I have a eery feeling that our rostor won't change at all. These guys are too scared to pull the trigger on anything. Especiallly since they shot themselves once with their moves this past offseason. Especiallly since they shot themselves once with their moves this past offseason. There gun shy boys I disagree BB. If the Reds have shown anything, it's to pull the trigger quickly based on public opinion -- see Graves and Miley. Secondly, http://www.cleveland.com/sports/plaindeale...3330.xml&coll=2It's not factual, but it's not being denied the Indians could be going after Reds players for top prospects. HOWEVER, the prospects the dealer reports is a SS and 3B. Hopefully we don't deal for a SS or a 3B. So take it for what's it worth. Also, if we go back to the public opinion theory, I fully expect Dunn to be a goner. I just hope Cincy isn't dumb enough to trade him to the 'Stros -- however, their farm is stacked with young arms. AMC
If they get young arms I hope they are GROUND BALL PITCHERS. You know, with a good slider or sinker. Not a flyball pitcher like they know they were getting with Milton....Milton=O'Brien has his head up his you know what

The other pitchers have to pitch under the same conditions. Yes, the ERA of Reds pitchers should be expected to be higher, but that doesn't mean they can't win. redsbengalsbucks
the problem is pitching and until they are ready to pay to have a legitamate #1 pitcher it always will beyou can not win with a 5 man rotation of #3 and #4 pitchers, you have to have at least one stopper. 7/11
yeah, i don't get smoltz's logic. both teams play there every game we play. anyways, on to the untouchable issue.....i can't get the font size to work, but imagine this really really big....TRADE ADAM DUNN BECAUSE HE f**king SUCKS!!! AMC
But if Cincy knows they play 81 games a year at GABP then they should taylor their pitching staff likewise.Don't sign Milton who has a history of giving up the long ball.....Develop pitchers to throw sinkers and hard sliders in the minors. Acquire ground ball pitchers....Something is wrong in how they made up the team.....Offense is too power based, and where do you start on the pitching.... Other teams don't seem to have a problem shutting down Reds hitters there, anyway the team is much better at home than they are on the road and the Reds pitchers have worse road ERA's than home ones.24-22 Home11-31 RoadCan't blame it on the ball park

Yeap, Reds pitchers pitch 81 games at GAB. Non-Central teams play only 3 games at GAB. Central teams play, maybe double-digits at GAB. CBin2k7
Good pitchers can win anywhere. Bad pitchers suck everywhere. How about this pitching philosophy keep your 88 MPH fastball out of the middle of the plate. Work the inside and keep the ball down. Watch Chris Carpenter and the good pitchers who come in here and allow 0-2 runs per game.

I totally agree remember why Paul Wilson had so much success last season, he is a ground ball pitcher. We definally need more ground ball pitchers cause guys these days can just crush the ball.
