Randle El

Guys in my opinion this guy could be better next year. I also think this guy could bust out as a WR. He was the biggest reason for the Steelers 15-1 season.IMHO

They start at seems the 45 every time because of his returns. Maybe im wrong but he definently deserves his respect.

he IS deadly on returns, he killed us that game at home, they had such good field position all game.

now as a receiver, Deltha O'Neal is the perfect matchup for him because he can definitely match up with his speed and athleticism and has the man coverage skills to stay with him anywhere he goes.

Overrated? I disagree. Every time I saw the Steelers last year, I saw WRs running free, often with several yards of separation from a DB. Consequently I wasn't as impressed with Big Ben as a cursory glance at a box score would have left me, but conversely I gained a lot of respect for their WR corp. Randle El was a big part of that, especially after Burress went down. Forget the number of receptions each of those Steelers WRs had...bottom line, they got open...WAY open. I saw it happen way too many times for their collective skills to be a fluke.

I'm glad Burress is out of the division and in a Giants uniform. He's very dangerous as a #2...I just hope he's as dangerous as a #1 in New York. Hope springs eternal...

That's because alot of teams played an extra guy in the box to stop the Steelers run game. Randle El is a good receiver, is he a star no, but with Hines Ward and Plax taking attention away from him, he is free to roam.

It will be interesting to see how people defend him this year.

I'm not sure I was trying to say he was a 'star' persay, just that Ward/Burress/Randle El formed a heck of a 1-2-3. But none-the-less, good point. Plus add in all the extra guys that were being rushed at Roethlisberger early in the year - in futility too, their line was solid last year. The Steelers got much easier to defend after teams figured out that Big Ben couldn't find a guy in coverage.

I love ARE but he's no game changing reciever. He's done his apprentiship as a returner now he needs to make his mark on the offense and compete for that no. 2 place. I think he's got potential to be a good second reciever just like Plax did.

The main problem I have with him is the fumbles he has. He's got to stop that and catch and hold the ball properly before he can become decent 2nd threat.

Chances are he may stay in the slot if Cedrik Wilson does well in camp.

wasn't plaxco bens favorite recevier near the redzone or something

randle el won't have the same impact because plaxco was ben's big target

Randle El has his own style though. Plaxico didn't need to get wide open to catch the ball. You just have to throw it up and he'll catch it. The man's 6'6" for cryin' out loud. Randle El on the other hand, is like Peter Warrick with speed. He's agile, elusive, and fast as all get out. Those abilities will help him get separation and YAC. He's just as much as a threat as Plax, but in a far different way.

Randle El is good when returning punts, but the guy is not underrated at all. This man is more overrated than anything, he's not a guy that I worry about really.
