The Big Orange Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I found this write up interesting about up and coming sophmores on teams in the AFC North. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/3731884It's interestng that Madeiu and Rothlesberingsinehfklger isn't mentioned. Perhaps they are pretty well known already and they are just highlighting lesser known draft picks. Also no Chris Perry, Winslow, or any of the Ravens are barely mentioned. Ravens have had back to back lousy drafts. If this year is the same, they will have had back to back to back...which means if Romeo can turn the Browns around in the next couple of years, the Ravens will find themselves in the AFC North basement soon...Won't that be nice.I hate the Ravens most...Steelers second most...and the Browns third most. I'm probably in the minority in this but if the Browns were playing the Eagles in the Super Bowl, I'd probably root for them...just for the Ohio thing. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 "Here's a look at five players in the AFC North who didn't make an impact as rookies last season"That's why Big Ben and Madieu aren't mentioned in the article. They DID make an impact last season.Geathers barely made an impact. We saw flashes of his brilliance, but he wasn't a starter. Quote
The Big Orange Posted July 3, 2005 Author Report Posted July 3, 2005 AAhhhh, that explains things...I think Geathers will make a huge splash this year...or course that's probably mostly wishful thinking, but The Sporting News predicts he'll get 10 sacks. If Keiwan could catch an int to save his life, his phyisicality is desperately needed at the corner...especially for run defense. derekshank Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 Nice article Big O. Thanks for showing us. That's one of the main reasons I love this forum. True Bengals fans really are good at finding articles when bengals.com doesn't run anything for a few days. (This is evidenced by the fact that I saw that ESPN.com's top NFL Searches included the Bengals at #2!) Interesting insight on Baltimore's drafts though. I'd love to see them tank in the next year or two. They're getting fairly old.My order of teams I hate is different from yours though:Baltimore - because they're better than Cleveland, and used to be in ClevelandBrowns - I don't even like rooting for them when they're playing the Ravens. I wish both teams could lose. Also hate them because... well have you ever met a Browns fan?Steelers - even though they're good, I can't muster any real ill will for them. They've never been a team I've hated. Don't know why.I also still dislike the Cowboys because everyone liked them for so long, and I always root against Indianapolis, because I live in Indiana, and you'd be surprised how arrogant Colts fans can be about Peyton Manning. bengalsLB Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 yeah, one of my lacrosse coachs is a browns fan Quote
The Big Orange Posted July 3, 2005 Author Report Posted July 3, 2005 Hey, Shankster,I just had a good chuckle at your sig pic...very funny. I don't have any ill will really towrds the Steelers...more jealousy than anything. There fans are everywhere...even here in ATL...there fan base is just gigantic...almost as big as the Cowboys. As a Bengal fan here, I'm a freak of nature...a big, fat freak wearing acres of orange clothing. Kazkal Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 My dislike order goesRavens-2nd worst fans on the internet you mention anything wrong with ravens and they freak outSteelers-They would have been worst but much <3 for Hines ward, worst fans IMO all they talk about is how great big ben is and know nothing about the other north teamsBrowns-Biggest internet homers but they have some nice fans and some realist(On their afcn prediction thread about 60% of them said bengals would have winning season 40% said bengals would be 2-14 or worst Quote
andybren Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 It's funny, until I glanced at the last few drafts the other day, I had it in my mind that Madieu was the sole 2nd round pick and Keiwan was drafted in the 3rd or 4th round. It would be nice if Keiwan really stepped up and delivered this year. Ya know, Tory James is getting a little long in the tooth... I hate the Ravens. Hatehatehate them. Art Modell + Ray Lewis + Jamal Lewis/Priest Holmes = I wouldn't root for them under any circumstances. Unless maybe if they were playing in some kind of international tournament against the Taliban. Maybe. My dad and sister are Browns fans, so I have sympathy for their situation. I'd root for them in the playoffs, but probably because they're never good when the Bengals are good, or vice versa. Some of those Browns' fans predicting the Bengals going 2-14 probably think the 2 wins will be against the Browns, so that's fun.And my aunts/uncles/cousins are from the Pittsburgh area, so I don't hatehatehate the Steelers. I enjoy beating them and I enjoy seeing them lose, but similar to the way I enjoy seeing the Yankees lose. It's with a hint of respect. I wouldn't root for them in the playoffs, but if they made it to the Super Bowl, I'd probably pull for them. At least beating them the following year would be nicer. Quote
Rimington over Marino Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 I hated the Steelers during the Bradshaw regime. They killed our playoff opportunities. When we had good teams we still couldn't beat them. I really just hate the Ravens and Browns because of how Art Modell stole the team from PB. Quote
