"Anybody can say, 'OK, he had a great year (in 2004), so let's see if he can do it again.' That's like trying to tell a person to go to war in Iraq, but let me see if you can go to war again and come back, and then we'll give you the Medal of Honor. You don't send a soldier out to a battlefield twice for him to (prove he is) consistent." – Green Bay wide receiver Javon Walker, who has two seasons remaining on his current contract, on whether he should have to repeat a stellar '04 performance before seeking an increase.

Some guys just don't get it. Is this on par with KW2's soldier comments?

Being someone in the military, I just don't get his comments. In the military you know you serve out your contract and whatever is asked of you, you must do. I feel no sympathy for him he has a contract play it out and then get your money.

People around here know my stance on government and know I don't agree with what is going on with the troops but that doesn't mean that i don't hold those troops in a very high regard. My message is this. Don't compare football or anything for that matter to war cause there is no comparison. I have heard numerous tragic WWI stories from my Grandfather(God rest his soul) and they scare me just to think about them.

They call football a game for a reason, but that has been long forgotten :(
