What are the players risking more to be cut on both sides of the ball?

IMHO Warrick or Washington will not make the team, TE Kelly is on the bubble too, on defense Clemons, Kaesviharn, Caleb Miller, Powell are on the edge.

When we finally find a decent TE we can cut 2 of these bums, IMHO. The question is, which bum would you keep? I do think it will be Reggie Kelly who catches the boot.

I agree the chances of both Warrick and Washington making the team are pretty slim.

Clemons isn't really on the bubble, he's a valuable 3rd DE who can rush from either side, and can move inside if necessary. He's the #3 DE on the squad, and will stick. Marvin likes his versatility.

KK on the bubble? Are you smoking some of Spain's crack? KK is a league minimum backup who can help you out at safety or corner in a pinch. As others have said, he doesn't stack up well at strong safety, but he gets the job done and makes plays. For his pay, he's all around the ball when he is on the field.

Miller on the bubble? Sure, unless he can prove to be a special teams ace, he's at risk. However, in just his second year, as a Marvin Lewis draft choice, I doubt he gets cut.

If you are looking for cuts, you are looking in the wrong direction.

Here's my list of guys "on the bubble".

Patrick Body - There's a lot of competition in the secondary, and Body will really have to prove he's got it to make the squad.

Greg Brooks - If Body makes it, he's gone. If Body doesn't make it, he might still be gone.

Brandon Williams - He's fighting for a spot in the secondary, and I think he will make the squad. But he's gone LONG before KK is.

Elton Patterson - He's been cut before, this will be nothing new for him.

Greg Scott - Was only brought on to play because we were desperate at DT last year.

Derrick Crawford - Gets cut LONG before Clemons or Powell.

Shaun Smith - See Gregg Scott

Ronnie Ghent - One Fullback makes the squad, and that's going to be Jeremi Johnson

Jeremy Thomas - See Ronnie Ghent

Doug Easlick - See Ronnie Ghent

Kyle Takavitz - We have a lot of guys trying to make the oline. He probably won't.

Do you mean that you think he will be cut? He just resigned dirt cheap, meaning that the team has no reason to cut him. He'll probably start on the PUP, but once he gets healthy he'll at least have a chance to show he can play. If he can play when his contract ends he'll be picked up by someone else. I really doubt his career is over.

Sure there is a chance he won't ever be what he was before the injury, but when he took the pay cut, he basically signed an insurance form, giving hime a chance to prove himself.

Another couple things about Kaesviharn. First, the team respects his play on special teams, he was voted an ST Team Captain in 2003. Second, he's 1 of only a few defensive players that were here pre-Lewis. Coach would've weeded him out previously.

Hmmm....I have read that he is a solid back-up. Well, regardless, I do think that we have much depth at OL. Much more than other teams....I definately don't think that we are screwed.

Who gets cut could depend some on who gets extended.

If Levi and Justin get extended, they'll have to clear some cap. P-Dub and his $2.28-mill salary w/o any pro-rate signing bonus to deal with tops the list of the players you name.

Clemons would clear $1.25 mill in base but what's left of the $1.3-mill SB he got with his extension last year would have to be pushed into next year or split.

Kelly clears $1.1 mill in base but a $1 mill pro-rate of the $2-mill SB he got 2 years ago is left.

K2 ($650k) and Powell ($540k) would clear about a mill combined but K-Dub and Caleb would clear less than a mill.

I'd say P-Dub, Powell, and Kelly if they want to extend either Levi or Justin. But I'd like to see what P-Dub does in pre-season

Caleb makes the team by virtue of surviving Abdullah. Off the top of my head, the top 6 LB's who are healthy are Pollack, Thurman, Simmons, Landon Johnson, Larry Stevens and Caleb. Considering the injuries last year, what does ML gain by cutting only the 2nd LB he ever drafted?

I'm a super fan of KK and I hope he'll make the roster but at the same time I see him to be in danger. Every year some valuable player gets cut for any reason (salary, training camp injury etc.) so this year will be the same.

Resigning him gave us cap relief so that when they do cut him it won't cost that much towards are cap in the future. The man will never be the same he suffered a bad injury that is known to limit your lateral movement which makes it impossible to play middle linebacker let alone any other LB position.

Exactly.

Pdub and Washington are fighting for the 3rd Wideout spot. The guy who doesn't get it, I believe will be cut. Walter makes it for his special teams play, and the other guys are fighting for the last spot on the team. It's possible that we keep Pdub and Washington, but if we do, the rest of these guys are either gone or practice squad fodder.

KK doesn't get cut for salary reasons, he's dirt cheap, especially for what he does on the field and in the locker room as a leader. He's cheap enough that even if he is injured, they can keep him around for next year without it hurting the salary cap.
