The Best and Worst of the Offseason So Far

I just wanted to throw a few categories out there and see how all of you felt about what has gone on in the offseason to this point. Here are the categories:

Best and Worst Overall Draft

Best Steal of the Draft

Best and Worst Single Draft Pick (reason why)

Best and Worst Offseason FA Signing

Feel free to add more...these were the only ones I could come up with for now. But here are mine:

Best Overall Draft: (tie) Arizona Cardinals and KC Chiefs

Worst Overall Draft: Denver Broncos

Best Single Draft Pick: Derrick Johnson by KC Chiefs

Johnson should be the real deal and give immediate help to a depleted KC linebacking corps

Worst Single Draft Pick: (tie) Alex Smith by SF or Matt Jones by Jacksonville

There is no reason that Smith should have gone #1, and spending a first-round pick on a QB who is making the transition to WR makes absolutely no sense.

Steal of the Draft: Aaron Rodgers at #24 to Packers

A smart, accurate QB who now has the chance to learn under the greatest QB ever. He should send Mike Nolan a card and some roses.

Best Offseason FA Signing: (tie) Pat Surtain by KC or *Kenoy Kennedy by Detroit*

*I know that this is an odd pick, but the Lions filled a pressing need with a young, very talented player who flew under the radar during his time in Denver*

Worst Offseason FA Signing: The Denver Broncos (pick one of about twenty)

Best Overall Draft:

1. Carolina -- The Panthers helped themselves immensely now and in the future w/ the likes of Thomas Davis, Eric Shelton, Evan Mathis, Atiyyah Ellison, Stefan Lefors, and Jovan Haye.

2. Zona -- Key positions got filled w/ great picks in Antrel Rolle, JJ Arrington, Eric Green, Darryl Blackstock, and Elton Brown.

Best Pick

1. Mike Williams -- Lions

2. Mark Clayton -- Ratbirds

Worst Pick

1. Jason Campbell -- Deadskins. Not a bad QB but for what Snyderbrenner and his incompetents gave up, this pick is a disaster that should contribute to the end of Gibbs' coaching career.

2. Demarcus Ware -- Cowblows, the next Reinard Wilson.

Steal of Draft

1. Odell Thurman -- Bengals. I'm hoping

2. JR Russell -- Bucs 7th round WR

Best Free Agent Signings

1. Patrick Surtain -- Chiefs

2. Lamont Jordan -- Raiders

Worst Free Agent Signings

1. Broncos -- The D-line trio of former Clowns

2. Jaguars -- Tony Williams
