bengal4life
did anyone watch CJ on Jim RomeI noticed he had tears of excitement during his interview.I know last year he said 1800 yards; this year he just may do itwith a more experienced Palmer. :player:

derekshank
I also think that having the threat of Chris Henry on the outside will help. Sure, maybe toward the end of the season. Henry is a rookie, and won't post big numbers until later in the season. He most likely won't be starting right away, and will have to beat out Warrick or Washington to get any playing time at all.I know a lot of you guys are down on Washington, but I think he will be back and have a good year, so Henry's breakout will probably have to wait until at least mid-season, if not next year. But back on topic, Chad clearly wasn't on the same page with CP early in the season, but they got on track later, and then Housh started stepping up.With so many good options for Palmer to throw to, we might see a decline in numbers a bit (Like Harrison's last year with the emergence of Reggie Wayne), but my guess is that Chad is going to be open a lot more because of all those weapons, and he will post some all time Bengal records. Michael Clayton had plenty of success as a rookie receiver, so did Anquan Boldin, and I think Henry has at least as much raw talent as those guys, and Henry has the benefit of a much better QB, WR corp, AND running game. I really think Henry will have an immediate impact and Washington will be an afterthought especially since his contract is gonna be up. Kazkal
Aye and it's kellys 3rd year which seems to be a break out year for receivers
derekshank
Sure, you can site a few rookie wr's that were productive, but for every one that was, there are 10 that were not, especially early in the year. Randy Moss wasn't even starting until mid-season his rookie year, and that is who everyone is comparing Henry to. I don't remember with Boldin, but Clayton was not very productive at the beginning of the year, but came on a little later. Roy Williams is the only rookie receiver of late that I remember stepping up as a stud from day one. They are rare, and with the deep WR core the Bengals already have, I don't expect Henry to be getting on the field a lot early on.

The_Next_Big_Thing
Pdub might not even make the roster, and the same goes for Squirrel. This only increases in probability if Tab Perry and Chis Henry shine in camp and preseason.
derekshank
You guys are crazy if you think Marvin Lewis is going to get rid of both Warrick and Washington. The only way he lets go of Warrick is if he's still injured... and if that happens who's going to beat out Washington for a roster spot? Broussard? no... Marving kept Housh on the roster, and he will with Washington too.Personally I think both rookies make it, and Warrick and Washington are both on the roster as well. As long as Warrick can play, they won't let him go. Who cares about the cap number, he is one of only 3 proven receivers on our roster. The only way Washington gets cut is if he is just plain awful in camp, and like it or not, he is not awful. He will make the roster, and most likely be given every opportunity to have the 4th receiver job (3rd if Warrick is hurt). It's his to lose... or Henry's to win, however you want to look at it.The fact of the matter is, I really like our receiving core, but I like it a lot less without Warrick, and I don't like it at all without both Warrick and Washington. That would mean we are fielding Chad, Housh, and unproven rookies. I don't trust rookies.
bengalboomer7
Why, topic ran away quick there. SO was there anything interesting in the interview?
ViewFromSec310
CJ basically said that there are no excuses and he fully expects to make the playoffs this year, and even the big dance. He said he is out of the prediction business. That him and Palmer are trying to communicate better like Manning and Harrison. He said that early season losses have hurt them and he thinks that if they start off better they will make it to the playoffs. Rome ask him why he think they will make the playoffs and CJ said that the young guys have another year under their belt.He also said that he puts in the work to be able to put on the show. He's happy with Cincinnati and the negative thoughts left 2 years ago. Rome asked him if he think he will have to go to another team to win, and CJ said NO!
