DesperateDerelict
The quote (paraphrased) is: “We are just a player or two away from being competitive and winning this division. If all of our players play ‘up’ to their full capabilities, we’ll be a dominant presence in this league. Our goal is to win the championship.”Who said it?a) Marvin Lewis – Bengals Head Coach (2004) Dan O’Brien – Cincinnati Reds GM (2005)c) Mike Brown – Bengals owner and GM (1995)d) All of the above
IckeyShuffle
that sounds like the lip service of Dan Obrien. If its "all of the above" then the difference is that Paul Brown and Marvin Lewis knew/know how to back up their talk. Dan Obrien is the guy all of us want in our fantasy leagues because he's the definition of "easy money" and imcompetency.
Kirkendall
It ain't O'Brien because he believes the Reds are still about 2-3 years away from being, well, good. It's not Paul Brown because he was dead before 1995. It's not all the above because both above are wrong. Therefore, via process of elimination, it MUST be Marvin Lewis. I win. HairOnFire
Can I play too? Which borderline genius isn't famous for saying... "More often than not the matter of winning is determined by which team makes the next-to-last mistake."

kingwilly
I think the quote is attributable to ML.HOF-That was Lombardi, I believe...or Yogi Berra! It acutally sounds like something Joe Theisman would say on a SUnday night <eyes rolling> God I can't stand Capt. Obvious on ESPN.Here is a Lombardi quote to live by:"Winning isn't everything, WANTING to win is."

Then again, how would I know what I've said after recently putting myself on my own ignore list.
