Sox
Pretty good according to this article on Bengals.com.http://www.cincinnatibengals.com/press/new...=0&news_id=2899
walzav29
On foxsport.com it said that the drafting of Tab and Henry spelled the end for PW. I would rather see them get rid of Russell and Washington. Walters goes all out on special teams.ChadTJPeteChrisTabKen WaltersSounds good to me. The_Next_Big_Thing
You're awfully quick to cut Washington. I'm betting you were one of the guys begging for TJ to be cut before camp last year weren't you?Washington just had shoulder surgery, which is why he's not at the voluntary camp, not a bad attitude as reported by people who don't know s**t. He's following the typical progression for a wideout in the NFL. Decent rookie season, sophmore slump, and is due for breakout 3rd season. Housh was on more of a bubble last year than K-Dub this year. Why wouldn't someone say cut Housh last year since he missed the year before and looked lax and unfocused in pre-season? Glad he proved himself and he's been rewarded for it, but hopefully the coin he got won't throw him off from what he needs to do to stay at the level he showed in the 2nd half of the season. As for K-Dub, call it the sophomore slump or whatever you want, but he needs to hold on to the ball better and get better separation over the middle. Still, for what he's making, he don't seem to be a candidate to get cut. If he doesn't want to be on the team, that's a different issue and getting a 5th rounder for him would be about the best they could get. I must have missed that one. I assume it happened during the season. However, I can only guess that is why they drafted the two WRs. That and PW's status as well. walzav29
I did say cut Pootie. Marvin obviously isn't in love with KWash or he wouldn't be drafting all of these receivers. I'm not a 100% sold on TJ either, but they have signed him. 1 900 yard season hardly puts you in the hall of fame, but I'll be rooting for him. GROIIIDayton
I am also not sold on TJ. One good year you act like he is going to the pro bowl next year. If he is so good why is CJ taking a rookie to his camp instead of TJ. My guess is that TJ will not end the season the number two reciever, and probably won't spend more than another year in cincinnati. If ML knew he would get this talent in the third round I that TJ might have been out then to bad we can't do that over.

Let me remind you...Coaches, bengal staff, etc. tend to lie when it comes to the status of players. Kelley didn't show up, people are starting to talk, they had to say something so all a sudden he had shoulder surgery!!!! I don't buy it. HairOnFire
One of the more popular opinions expressed after the draft has centered around the Bengals sending a warning shot of Kelley Washington's bow...an oft-repeated idea that I found ridiculous. Still do. If you guys want to see what a warning shot really looks and sounds like just read the articles commenting on Rich Brahams contract talks. There's no need for anyone to read between the lines on that one. Back to KW, there's no need to read between the lines on that one either. Marvin has now stated in black and white terms that Washington isn't in the doghouse and explained several days ago that the new draftees are here to push the wideouts who earn roster spots based upon their special team skills. In Henry and Perry the Bengals drafted guys who can do those things and given time....much more. I think those of you taking critical aim at Washington are too busy reading between the lines to see what's actually being said. However, it's not too late. Embrace the Squirrel. Chad isn't taking another veteran to an off-season camp because he's not a rookie. Get it. You don't expect somebody drafted the same year as you to act like your daddy do you? Clearly this Henry kid may need somebody like that. TJ is a solid and mature player at this point and it would be real weird for CJ to start taking responsibility for him. Where could you possibly get that TJ won't spend another year -- after signing a multi year contract? That's quite a bold (read ludicrous) suggestion. Way to call your shot though. Chad and TJ are in and will play out their contracts (that is, unless they're smart enough to try to renegotiate Chad in a couple more years).Tab Perry has already attended that camp which makes sense because he's a SoCal guy. Who knows what TJ's doing this offseason. I think he's earned the right not to be second guessed after putting up 900 yds. in about 3/4 of a season. That said, if somebody can knock him out of #2, I would be thrilled because they would probably be one hell of a wideout.

walzav29
No. There is no way that the leg would take that long to heal. I am no doctor, but that seems like one of those deteriating knee issues. He will be cut. The better question is why would they? They save money by releasing him, they have a #2 receiver, and they obviously feel that one of the other wideouts can be a 3rd receiver. I could see Tab or Henry as the 2nd wideout, and Pootie in the slot.
HairOnFire
...and hopefully this is the year that the Squirrel embraces the ball........ Sounds like someone is still mad about last seasons first Cleveland game. Fair enough, I am too. That said, my lasting impression of that game is Marvin pleading with Chad Johnson..."Please play football. Please, please play football." Yeah -- that is burned in my memory too. I noticed that he even called CJ over to the sideline to say just that. Fault him on personnel moves if you will, but ML still clearly has a relationship with his players. I give him some of the credit for CJ continuing to develop and never really hitting a sophomore slump. God I love that guy! (ML not Chad .... welllll, okay Chad too.) I am just disappointed the KW wasn't more of a force last year. Perhaps it was Palmer or the Sophomore slump....I don't know. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have the on-the-field intensity that someone like TJ has. Hopefully, though this will be KWs breakout year. But this shoulder thing is still a mystery to me. It appears to me that KW is content catching 1 ball per game, signaling first down then mixing the gatoraid the rest of the game. I do think ML is trying to motivate this kid, because his act is getting old. Like everyone else, I do hope he improves. If not for TJ, nobody would have picked up the slack for P-dub last year. andybren
My 2 cents: KDub is on the bubble, but the team's not about to cut him just yet. Otherwise, TJ never would have had a chance last summer. He might not get the PT he got 2 years ago, but he'll have a job.
