BengalNation1281
My friend the 49ers fan called me yesterday and said that the 49ers are looking to trade their #1 pick in the draft to SD for Philip Rivers. This would give the 49ers a young QB with a year in the WCO under his belt instead of having to take a chance on Rodgers or Smith, and the Chargers would have three picks in the first round.I have been looking around the net and haven't found anything about this...has anyone else heard anything along these lines?BTW, my buddy also said that Rodgers had his interview with the 49ers and it was far from impressive.NC State/Philip Rivers :player:
jjakq27
I saw something on a mock draft the other night but I can't find it now. Taking Phillips will also save the Niners a bunch of cash by not having to pay the #1 pick signing bonus.I'll keep looking.

IfItsBrownFlushItDown
Our guess is that, unless the Niners can swing a trade for a starting quarterback (Drew Brees is still available, theoretically) My thought exactly. Brees should be given a chance somewhere else. There's too much talent between him and Rivers to keep both in SD for long. Trade him while his stock his high. jditty47
it would be a great move for the chargers to trade him. they would have 3 picks in the first round, one which they can spend on a future qb at less money than what they are paying rivers. they have breese, they dont need rivers.
