Indycat
A very interesting article by Pat Kirwan at NFL.com combing times in the 40 and short shuttle to evaluate players.http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/8313818Raises the stock of some players often discussed here for the Bengals.S - Thomas Davis C - Chris SpencerDE - David Pollack ... There's a reason David Pollack at just 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds with short arms had 36 sacks, 117 QB pressures and 58 tackles for a loss. He is relentless on film, but he also has extraordinary quickness and COD. I promise you a defensive end with 4.50 speed can't play as fast as David Pollack...LB - Barrett Ruud ... Barrett Ruud is up against a number of linebackers with a faster 40 time but his field quickness is a big reason he finished his college career with 432 tackles. BengalPappaw
I did find that article interesting. I am coming to the opinion that I'd like to see us draft at least two of the three Georgia player (Pollack, Davis or Thurman) in the first two rounds. One other interesting point is that Pollack's and Davis' shuttle times were as good or better than the little, quick running backs. I also like to see our third round draft choice be Chris Spencer. THANKS for the report on this article -- I would have missed it! :player: :player:
