Kirwan identifies Kenoy Kennedy and Adrian Wilson as the top two available: http://nfl.com/draft/story/8242133

And then I read this: http://www.azcardinals.com/news/news_details.html?iid=2660

So can we confirm Wilson is available, and if so do we want him? He's younger, taller and heavier than Kennedy:

Wilson: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235258

Kennedy: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187581

Now, the Cards are looking at TE's and LB's too: http://www.azcardinals.com/news/news_details.html?iid=2657

So shall we offer them Hardy and Reggie Kelly?

Who would we get for Hardy or Kelly? Doubt Dennis Green would make a pointless trade for two very slow and useless indivduals. He would wait for them to be released then sign them to one year minimum salaries. I would wait for Thomas Davis in the draft. The Bengal's really seem to like him and I do too. Him and Madieu in d-backfield would be insane, def two pro-bowlers.

You Mentioned Adrian Wilson, well I personally not mind seeing him getting looked at. He is young and very underrated. We'll See

Zona had safeties Robert Griffith and Steve Gleason visit but I doubt it's to replace Wilson because he got a 5 yr contract extension in Dec. for $21 mill including a $4.5 mill SB. Birds would have to eat the whole bonus if they traded him.

It's more likely they're looking for a back-up to replace UFA back-up safety Michael Stone.

Or 220-pound FS OIfeanyi Ohalete, who appears to be a UFA and played for ML in DC.

BTW, Zona signed Steelers RT Oliver Ross so LJ Shelton is definitely still on his way out... he's proly all the Birds would offer in trade for Hardy and Kelly.

safety should be addressed in the draft - there are a number of darn good ones and the learning curve isn't too high (i.e. Madieu). Shazor would be my pick, but Brimmer might be a good value in the 3rd if he falls and I wouldn't be altogether unhappy with Thomas Davis in the 1st.

I don't dispute there are some good safeties available to draft but I'm wondering wouldn't it be worthwhile to at least host these FA guys? It means we would have more freedom of choice re our first couple of picks on draft day as safety would cease to be such a pressing need. Needless to say we could still draft Shazor, Brimmer or Davis, but why settle for one upgrade when you can get two?

Which of the four (Adrian Wilson, Kenoy Kennedy, Dwight Smith, Dexter Jackson) do people consider would be the best upgrade if added to our unit, who is most affordable/likely, and who would we consider cutting? I think we should pursue these guys because we need a DT and a C, positions that aren't deep (quality-wise) in the draft, and there are no real answers to DT and C left in FA.

ps given the contract extension Schweinhart mentioned above, am I wrong in thinking Wilson is a free agent? I'm not sure I understand!

Darren Sharper is gonna get released too. He's a little older and is coming off knee surgery but has been a proven playmaker in the past. I read somewhere that whoever picks him up should get the same kind of boost as Rodney Harrison gave the Pats secondary. Might be a little too old and banged up for me, though

I'm not sure why ESPN and Kirwan both list Adrian Wilson as a UFA.

But the NFL list of UFAs apparently does not include him -- at least he's not included on the Cardinals official site.

BTW, neither is Ohalete listed and I do remember reading that he too had signed a contract extension last year. Yet ESPN has him listed as a UFA

We'll even throw in DPM...

We would have to sign DPM first, and he would probably hold out because a shower with CD wouldn't be included in the deal.

Or he would want "fair market value", and I find that DPM is merely average and doesn't deserve big money.
