Bobcat Bengal
yeah no way cardinals give up there 1st rounder....the only thing i could see if the caridnals givign up there 2nd and 3rd rounder, but IMO that's almost better then there 1st rounder, cause they'll be getting a high 2nd rounder that most likely just droped out of the 1st round and be getting him at a relatively low price.same with the early 3rd round pick..these are picks that helpu build a solid team, something the cardinals desperately need.i could see us trading rudi to em for our 1st rounder, rudi and their 1st and 2nd rounder...It would be kinda cool also, I miss the glory days we had on draft day, when we had a top 5 pick. is that glory or gory That's what I'm sayin..... HairOnFire
* One report said, that Arizona has the least interest but is considering Rudi's value compared to the value of the drafts' available running backs. - The source went on to say that Dennis Green would feel almost forced to take a running back at # 8, because he couldn't get starting value if a run on runningbacks took place at the end of round 1. Denny Green was just on NFL Network confirming the Cards interest in adding a feature back now that Emmitt Smith has been pushed/retired. Free agent or trade, the only running back Green mentioned by name was Travis Henry. Not sure if that makes Henry the frontrunner or not. However, Green did confirm that the Cards are STILL offering LJ Shelton as trade bait.
HairOnFire
** Miami would be interested only if they could force Rudi's trade value of 2 first rounders pushed into oncoming seasons. Source went on to say, that paying 6.3 million would be better than the high price of 40+ million that Cedric Benson would command as the 2nd overall selection. Of the rumored trading partners Miami is the most attractive. The Bengals have no pressing need for a pick as high as this seasons 2nd overall pick so let Miami keep it in exchange for not negotiating down the franchise trade demand off two 1st round picks. Then, if you can swing the deal, sit back and watch Miami stink for at least two more seasons. Those two 1st rounders would likely produce top 10 picks...and when added to the Bengals own selections would add ample fuel for the fire of a future playoff team. BTW, I doubt we'll see any trade for the now tagged Rudi. In fact, I consider this thread to be little more than a handy gathering place for those of you who still can't get over how much the Bengals are willing to pay Rudi Johnson. BengalsOwn
Supposedly the Cardinals are trading Shelton for Travis Henry.
not-another
Ru-DEY is staying a Bengal. Two top draft picks for just one running back? Nuh uh. Maybe, in one of Mike Browns wet dreams. But, reality. Nope.

jamesbrooks21
I would be absolutely SHOCKED if somebody gave one first round pick for Rudi Johnson, much less two. I could see the Eagles giving up the third pick in the second round or Arizona giving up their second round pick, but there is no way anyone would give up two first rounders... if somebody was willing to pay that price why wouldn't they sign Edgerrin James instead? did everyone see what randy moss went for??? i doubt now that we would even get one 1st rounder for rudi. rudi will be playing in orange and black next year.
