jditty47 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 signing fa's? i would think larkin would free up some money.....we need another SS mb. just in case... Quote
WHO DEY AGAIN? Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 I just hope no one wakes Carl up for another 2 weeks. If we add a 2nd baseman we could be tough. That is if no one gets hurt....and we all know this sad story. Hire a REAL *** damn trainer!!! Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 For the first time in a long time I might actuall go to and watch some reds games. I've been a huge fan for years but have all but given up on baseball because the same 5 or 6 teams are the only ones with chances, but we've already got great hitting (even when there are some injuries) and some decent pitching so we may be able to win anywhere from 70 to 100 games. But as Jim Mora has said before "PLAYOFFS!!!!" bengalsfan33 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 We re-signed Jimenez, so he or Freel should be the start second baseman. Shortstop will be occupied by either Machado or Lopez. Randa will be at third, and Casey at first....The outfield, well, only god knows...One of them may get traded, but we'll have to wait and see what happens... Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 As much as I've always loved Griffey, I sure hope we don't trade any of out other outfielders (except maybe Dunn, unless someone can teach him to get a single)I'm not sure how old willy mo is but we've got some young studs in that outfield! R-U-D-I Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 On an all around basis per position1st-Superior2nd-AvgSS-Below avg3rd-AvgCatch-Below avgOutfield-Above avg (potential superior)starting-avgrelief-above avg (?) closer-avg (at best) forget the # of saves - I still squirm everytime Graves enters the game...Add it all up. 2nd-3rd place finish, maybe fighting for wild card. And with baseball designed to spend big - win big, this is about the best we can hope to look for in the future. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted December 29, 2004 Report Posted December 29, 2004 Yeah I know thats why I became strictly a football fan years ago. How can teams like the reds and indians compete when the most they can afford to spend is 50-60 million dollars and the Yanks spend more than 200 MILLION! We'll never see another team like the big red machine because there are only a few teams that can afford to have that many great players. Quote

WHO DEY AGAIN? Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 I love Freel! Just not as an every day player. I'm not too excited about Jimenez either but at least we can contend for a wildcard spot. It's been a while since I've been able to say that in late December. Man, I would love to have Todd Walker this coming year. Quote
semiotter Posted December 31, 2004 Report Posted December 31, 2004 signing fa's? i would think larkin would free up some money.....we need another SS mb. just in case...Thats a understatement there!!! plus a hitting catcher would be nice..how long are they going to keep going with jason?? I mean he is o.k but ........... Quote
jditty47 Posted January 3, 2005 Author Report Posted January 3, 2005 on SC i heard that the yankees starting rotation makes more than 13 teams in the league. f**k baseball and their non cap situation. Quote
