delhole
Hey TubThumper..... is the season a BUST now???? Well it depends on your expectations for the team. Apparently TubThumper had high expectations for the bengals. I on the other hand think this has been the most progressive season for the bengals in the alst 15 years. So bust for me? No.
TubThumper
The Bengals' season is a bust, no two and three ways about it. The Bills are as forgettable as ever, it's the Bengals that proved themselves to be still a bad team. The season did uncover some good young prospects, but unknowns off the waiver wire like Marcus Wilkins have come in and filled the role spots more capably than a lot of the veteran core of the team. Losing at home to a mediocre team like the Bills just shows that the Bengals need to scrap a lot of that veteran core and continue to rebuild. Don't hold on to the past; it just hasn't been a glorious one. Rudi Johnson is good but not good enough to spend the money he wants to keep him. Kitna just doesn't have the poise to be a reliable backup quarterback. The tight ends are practically worthless as receivers. The offensive and defensive lines need an overhaul. The secondary needs some weeding out. The linebackers are suspect. The kicker is a sure-shot short kicker, but the short kickoffs are killing field position. And there are just too many guys lacking the discipline to avoid bone-head mistakes and penalties. There need to be more guys with the mentality that refuses to screw up games like this. You won't have that if you tolerate a loss like this. You just can't let rum-dum-bums come in your house and beat you on a humble like this. The guys that just don't have the edge to elevate their level of play to meet challenges like this have to go.The only consolation is that I can now get back to forgetting that what's-its-face (you know, that run-down, crappy town in the tundra of Western New York) exists. They all know that when it counts tobs will make a fool of the bengals fans, even more than thier team did. I'm not backpedalling at all. I talked some smack and the Bengals got their butts whipped, which makes me stand behind what I said before the game all the more: The Bengals win this game or the season is a bust. Well, they lost, and the season is a bust. I said that all the Bills were good for is showing whether your team is a bad team or not. If you don't beat them, it makes you a bad team. Well, the Bengals lost, so now I'm saying they're still a bad team and need to clean house.Where's the backpedal in that? I can't say the Bills are good -- a good team would have beat their asses. The crow I'll have to eat is that the Bengals have more problems than I would have liked to have believed. But somewhere in this forum I said that before the game too.Now go back to your frozen rat hole and leave us alone.

Placid acceptance of losing is what makes people losers, hence the 14th consecutive non-winning record of the Bengals. It is insanity to keep doing the same thing and expect different results. It's time to cut the dead wood, plain and simple. A good team would have beat the Bills.

Tub represents a negative and dejected loser, in the truest sense of the word. His fragile ego is so insecure that he creates built in excuses for losing, and would rather repudiate his team than respect the team that came in and thrashed them. The Bills are better coached, and have better young athletes that are capable of coming up with the big play(Lee Evans, Jason Peters). The Bills went further in establishing the tone of the Mularkey regime than Marvin Lewis did in 03. That has to eat at a franchise that had Mularkey at the top of thier wish list. The future is bright for the Buffalo Bills.

The Bengals have been decimated by injuries this year. They have 15 players on IR.ON TOP OF THAT they were without their starting QB,Center (Mr 15 on IR) starting CB (Deltha O`Neal) and our starting DE who is leading the team in sacks (Duane Clemons)against the Bills.Yeah your team won ....but for you to go on with your rah rah Bills are so great and blah blah is horse s**t. If you lose to a team from Buffalo, you just have to look inward and make changes, because self-respecting people can't let that happen. Now, if you were actually playing the game, and I was too, I'd have to give you propers for winning, but you're not, and I'm not, so get a life and go seek validation for something that you've actually done, you vicariously living loser. Now, it might strike some as inconsistent that I would spend so much time typing in this forum and yet claim to be so detached from sports-idol worship.
