The Bengals this morning added starting center Rich Braham to the long list of players on injured reserve.

The Bengals put Braham on the list after he re-injured his knee last week at New England.

Jerry Fontenot is expected to start the final three games this season at center – including the Sunday match against Buffalo at Paul Brown Stadium.

The Bengals filled Braham’s spot on the 53-man roster by signing running back Quincy Wilson off the Atlanta practice squad. Wilson, a rookie, rushed for 1,380 yards last season as a senior at West Virginia. He was Atlanta’s seventh-round draft pick (No. 219 overall).

Braham is the 15th Bengal and fifth starter on the injured reserve list this season. The number of players on reserve lists is 16, counting cornerback Dennis Weathersby, who suffered a serious head injury in an April car crash.

The other starters on IR are wide receiver Peter Warrick, defensive tackle Tony Williams, punter Kyle Richardson and linebacker Nate Webster.

Two players, wide receiver Patrick Johnson and center Thatcher Szalay, were released off the IR list earlier this season.

In 2003, the Bengals placed just three players on IR and didn’t lose one until December.

Braham, an 11th-year pro from West Virginia, might have played his last NFL snap. He has battled through a long list of injuries and missed three games earlier this season because of the aftereffects of arthroscopic knee surgery. He started the opener at the Jets but had to leave the game. Braham returned to start Games 5-13. He signed a one-year contract in the spring to return to the Bengals as an unrestricted free agent.

Besides Fontenot, offensive lineman Larry Moore also can play center.
