kevnz Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer capped his break-out game Tuesday when the NFL named him AFC Offensive Player of the Week for engineering 24 fourth-quarter points in Cincinnati’s 27-26 victory in Baltimore.Palmer threw three touchdown passes in a span of 9:17 in a fourth quarter he threw for 200 yards while also compiling career bests with a 127.1 passer rating, 29 completions, and an 80.6 completion percentage.Jon Kitna, Palmer’s backup, last won the award for the Bengals with his 411-yard performance against Pittsburgh Dec. 30, 2001. The last Bengal to win one of the NFL’s weekly awards was wide receiver Peter Warrick, the Special Teams Player of the Week last season for his Nov. 16 performance in the victory over undefeated Kansas City.Good stuff for Palmer. It's nice to see Him and the Bengals getting some attention and it's good to see some of the people that slammed Coach Lewis for starting him say it was a good idea now. Quote
WhoDey42 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Carson is getting a lotta love on NFL Live on ESPN. Its funny how they all change their opinons about starting Palmer after he shows that he is the real deal. One of the guys (I don't know his name) picked Carson over Ben and Byron as the most impressive right now. Way to go Carson. Quote
