Steel Legends Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 I know that you guys need a LB in the worst way, so, would you sign a guy like Bell knowing that he's injured a lot? He is a beast when healthy but the guy hasn't played a full season since 2001, his rookie year, and that's why I don't think he will be resigned.Very risky signing for any team tha feels he's ready to be a fixture on a team. Barbarian Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Why??? Why would you bother signing Bell (who is injured a whole lot)--especially when the front 4 can't keep Offensive Linemen off their LBs!!!We've already got one undersized MLB injured for the year--we don't need another possibly injured LB.No offense, but this would be a dumb signing. Turi Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 The feeling I'm getting is that we'll lose Bell when the time comes. Which is a shame because obviously, when he's healthy, he's awesome. Luckily our defense hasn't suffered so badly because Larry Foote has stepped in and done a great job. On the outside issue of LB's I'm surprised, initially, the Bengals didn't pick up Gildon this offseason. But I'm even more surprised we didn't resign him, he's a class guy and could easily finish his career well with us. Obviously we cut him for cap reasons but he can't be demanding the same salary after two cuts and still being a free agent. Quote
