CTBengalsFan
probably was calling for him to come in as starter after kitna's abysmal start last year. only at this time last year we were 0-3 instead of 1-2.if you have yet to realize that it will take a little while to iron out the mistakes, however the dividends will in turn be worth it, you have no understanding of football. Kirkendall
I'm sure it has a lot more to do with a frustating 14 year losing history. Some people's patience are starting to wear thin. But I mostly agree with you...BTW - Why did you start another thread about Palmer-Kitna deal when there's two actively going? Sox
In his first three starts,Peyton Manning threw 2 TD's and had 8 INT's.He looked terrible.About game seven though, things started clicking for him,and he finished strong.I'm not saying Palmer is Peyton Manning,it's just something to think about. The game by game stats for Manning in the link below. You can see him getting better game starting with week seven.I expect we'll see something similar from Palmer.http://www.peytonmanning18.com/1998.html
kitna3perry26
I for one never called for Kitna's head because I knew he would come through. I think I might be to critical of Palmer because he looks awesome some times and then he will miss a sure TD pass but I guess that comes with the inexsperiance. Carson will be good I think. I just hope he is good this year. If we go to 1-6 or 2-6 or 2-7(which I don't think will happen) is when we bring in Kitna.
BengalBobNC
If we go to 1-6 or 2-6 or 2-7(which I don't think will happen) is when we bring in Kitna.I'm not sure about that. If there is going to be a QB change I think it would happen sooner rather than later, depending on the standings. If we are 1-7 or 2-6 (etc) what would be the point of pulling Palmer? With that record we would have very little chance of seeing the post season. Let Palmer stay in and get his experience so he is that much better in his second year as a starter. We just need to be patient. This team will get better. We may not get to the post season this year. We may not even beat last years record, but the fix is in. Marvin Lewis has been our Head Coach for 19 regular season games. His record is 9-10. Pretty damn good for the worst team in professional sports during 1991-2002.Palmer is the real deal. We're dealing with injuries we didn't have last year as well. Injuries to the front line is certainly affecting the running game and pass protection. Still Palmer threw for over 300 yards and Rudi still got, what, 98 yards. Against the stingy Ravens that was pretty good. CJ got 98 or 99 yards receiving and TJ was over 100. Mistakes hurt, but pulling Palmer now, or at anytime this season, would be the biggest mistake of all.
kitna3perry26
We haven't scored a offensive TD in two games. If we are in the 4th quarter down 10-3 or 10-0 etc. I might want to put in Kitna for a series or two just to see how the team responds and see if we can put up some points. You can't win games without TDs usaully.
EdwardG
It really doesn't matter who are quarterback is until we get the defense straightened out. How many Super Bowl teams give up 200 yards to a runner game after game?

At least he was able to move the offense. Not having Warrick really hurt in the red zone...To answer the original question: No, I'm not doubting him a bit. Thank God for that.If you put Kitna in for a series or two, then you blow Carson Palmer's confidence. Then you take several steps back as a franchise.Let's just say, I'm glad you're up in the stands thinking up this idiotic s**t instead of having a Motorola Headset on!!!Whew!!! kitna3perry26
If he loses confidense because we take him out for an experienced QB after he has gone like 8 or 9 quarters in a row without producing any offensive TDs then he shouldn't be a starting NFL QB. You guys treat him like a little baby.Oh we can't take him out and put in Jon for a series or two, it will ruin Carson's confidence.BTW If you guys couldn't figure it out, I'm being sarcastic. kitna3perry26
I want what is best for the team and if that means taking Carson out so we can experiment and try to finally score a TD with a proven QB then so be it.

I couldnt have said it better man, the last thing we wanna do is crush this kids confidence, its just starting to build! Ya know Brew--not only that--but these "fans" jumping on this "BENCH PALMER FOR kINTna" ARE NOT paying attention!!!Palmer looks GOOD for being a 1st year starter. My prediction is true--that he's struggling in some places--but his arm strength, throwing tight in heavy traffic, and his confidence in the pocket IS DOWNRIGHT AMAZING, again for a 1st year player!!!How can these bandwagoners complain??? Especially when they seen the final drive in the Miami Game!!! That s**t was brilliant!!! In California Tongue--it was "HELLA-MONTANA-LIKE"!!!I love how these "fans" use Palmer as a scapegoat, when Palmer has been ONE OF THE BUNGLES' BRIGHT SPOTS, in the 1st 3 games!!!Plus, for throwing the ball FIFTY-TWO f**king TIMES, he only had 3 picks!!!!!!! For a 1st year player??? First off, you can blame DRUNKOWSKI for that dumb s**t!!! Second of all, Drunkowski shouldn't be putting all the pressure on a 1st year player. I said before the season started that a Palmer lead offense should be relying on a heavy running game--to get the kid comfortable. SUNDAY WAS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW NOT TO RUN THIS OFFENSE!!!I'll now admit that I could have been wrong about Palmer before the season started--he looks wayyyy better than I ever thought he would. You "fans" that are using Palmer as a scapegoat need thought re-tooling!!! You "fans" also need to take some FOOTBALL 101 CLASSES--especially you TOOLS that think Palmer needs to be pulled in favor of kINTna.Simply stated, that's some real dumb s**t!!!! TS - Don't worry about it.. it's hardcore fans just being fickle. We lose and we want answers as well as heads -- that's sports. Of course, the QB position is always the position to first be answered; but most of us realize we need to fix the defense first.
